Ugliest Cars Made?

without reading all 7 pages...my vote goes for the AMC Pacer.

we had a '78 Pacer with woodgrain sides and a V8,,, i think it was an extenda-pacer (the wagon one),, and have always asked,,, how could my dad go into the showroom, and say,, "yeah, we'll take that!"

actually would love to have it now,, just to cruise in a retromobile, and detail it!

My vote goes to the 1971-1982 Ford Thunderbird!

:soscared: And a fellow Canuck to boot!! :nomore:

Sorry man; aside from the e90 rear (the taillights in particular), and the rear of the 6-series (*** is going on there?), I like them. I like the 5-series, I like the 7-series, I like everything but the rear of both the 6 and 3, I like the new M's, I even like the new Z's. In fact I like the 3-series so much that now that they've fixed the rear on the 335i, I have a deposit in on one... and they still haven't given me a price. :soscared:

Don't run me out of Canada! :D

Bangle designs are actually growing on me...

My initial reaction to the bangle designs wasn't too positive either, but it didn't last very long as I quickly started appreciating them. I love the BMW designs, even the tall square box-trunk design of the '03 7-series.

People were up in arms over the new designs, but that sentiment certainly wasn't reflected in how well these cars sold.

Some of the "bangle haters" may disagree, but I didn't start appreciating the designs until I saw them in person. The 3 and 5 especially - for mass produced, fairly common cars they have an aggressive stance that looks like it's in motion all the time, especially from the front and sides. I really like how on almost all Bangle designs there is a really harsh rake from the rear fender down to the front fender - I know that's not a new concept, but it's achieved very well in his cars, imo.

Anyway, onward; I saw one of those B9 Subbies today. UHG!!!

I think all the Bangle talk is a bit ridiculous. As someone stated earlier in the thread he is not SOLELY responsible for the cars. It's not like he takes them start to finish and puts them on the road. BMW is moving cars for a reason, the designs are good. BMW total sales were up last year, 7 series sales were up, 5 series sales lead its segment. Numbers talk, haters walk.

There's a name for the old designs like this...

Mercedes CLS55 AMG-for 90k you think you could get a stylish design but instead the rear is absolutely horrible.

Any car with black plastic on the exterior-seems the car manufacturers like to go with the cheap molded plastic as opposed to stamping something out of steel and paying for fit and finish-looks horrible!!!

Couldn't agree more with these statements. MB designs are definitely looking like turds. Tapered too much on both ends. Also, nothing is made of metal anymore. It's all "chromed" plastic, or just molded black junk that weathers like the cheap crap it is.

I absolutely love this in your face sexy ride!:o If you've paid the back seat a visit though, you know that it truly is a 4 door coupe.

With out any doubt, subaru's b9 tribeca. you look at that and say.... DUDE lay off the weed, your 50 the 60's happend 46 years ago, YOU WERE 4.

I'm sorry, that car is a disgrace.

I saw a book today called Crap Cars and thought of this thread. It was a countdown type book from 50 with photographs (for better or worse). Makes you realize how many bad cars have been made...

Chevy Citation

Dodge Rampage (the one from the 80's)

LeCar

..to name a few. Bad, bad, bad! :)

I'll probably get flamed for this, LOL, but I think Lamborghinis are hideous! They remind me of little pointed shoes.

Just thought of another couple of horrid autos: Chrysler 300, Dodge Caliber, Suzuki Aerio 5-Door (ANY Suzuki car for that matter).

EDIT: Just read on the net that Suzuki cars came in DEAD LAST in initial quality surveys in '05. Shocker.

Now, people... let's not be haters. I can't really think of anything I'd consider truly UGLY. I can usually find one or two things in most any car that I like. Try looking for the good instead of the bad.

Every vehicle has its own charms... you just have to look a little deeper in some, to find them.
