Overrated products

Poorboys SSR series.

Finish Kare 1 FX-100

Finish Kare 1 425 (start the flaming)

I love 425 on a light colors and my plasma's, but I drive non-metallic black cars and I hate it. Maybe I got a bad batch? Wont be trying it again after a gallon. Unless I buy a few more plasma's?

I'm kinda down on my amazing roll off at the moment.. Takes way too much, costs too much, and doesn't dilute well enough (without losing its strength)... I like it in certain situations, and still use it, but probably won't be reordering..

Other than that, I've been pretty happy with my boutique products.. Each one of them have their weak and strong points though..

Hmmm......I've been wanting to try FK 425 on a mill. yellow corvette. That's also a non-metallic but have heard some good reviews. Any chance I can buy a sample from your gallon....?

Please PM me if your interested.......

Not arguing your results at all but I buy it by the case. It's going to be the replacement for Wheel Brightener for me along with a couple of other products.

i have a question for all of you that are dissappointed with the optimum line. what machine are you using with it? for those that dont know and to remind those that do know this line is made for rotary use. some have gotten good results using a pc but i have never seen anyone using a rotary complain about this line of polishes. i am really surprised to see so many people dissappointed by the line. have heard, seen and expierenced great results from this line.

Ever given Charlies APC a shot? I think that is my favorite APC.

Oh and also a bunch of people either last summer or the summer before hyped up Charlies Soap for washing MFs. Ha, nothing better than your average tide. That includes on non-MF products also.

Again, not to argue your results but I think wash solutions, both car and textile, will depend on the condition of *your* water. *I* had excellent results with Charlies. We were washing everything with it but it just became to expensive to obtain.

I really like the optimum line. Sometimes it seems to correct too fast and it makes me wonder if there is fillers inside. Other than that I am very happy with the polish. The hyper compound kind of sucked, but the compound was decent. I still like my #83 more. I'm sure there are a lot of Meguiar's haters here/ coming, but I stand by the #83.

#16 is over hyped! I love it and I have a dozen cans of it, but it doesn't last 7 months or whatever people claim. Hyper wash is a bit of a let down as well, even if it isn't hyped much.

There are some crazy hyped products that kind of die right away. EX XMT #4. It was loved by so many for what ...2-3 weeks then it kind of got moved to the back of the shelf.

I think zaino is overrated. My buddy even though i told him not to, ordered some and i don't see what all the hype is about, and neither does he. Yeah its decent but it Seems like alot of prep work for such little results, besides it can last 6 months or whatever. There are other sealents that last just as long, look just as good and that can be purchased in bulk at a cheaper price. And i finnaly got this thru to my friend.

Calling a product you've never used over-rated is bordering on retarded.

While I liked the original post better, this one is still on the money. How can you say sex is overrated if you haven't had any?

Eh, the original post took it all too seriously. You, me, and most other pro detailer on here with a rotary know that 106ff is the only way to go on super soft black. I'd love if OP did it, but it doesn't. On most other paint OP is fine (though I still prefer 106ff); but on those e92s, astons, and glasurit resprays 106ff is the only way to go.

But ya, deciding a product is overrated just because a lot of guys like it... well... :wow:

On topic; products I think are over-rated!

Any poorboys polish/compound.

optimum tire shine

wolfgang dgps

p21s wheel cleaner (there, I said it...)

z2pro (not to be confused with z5pro, which rocks hard)

the stinking schmitt.

Wow, I had no idea so many of you don't like FK425. I love it and use it on everything. Works well for its intended purpose.

Further proof that different products work well/better for different folks. ;)

Klasse AIO. Too thin, and did nothing for me. tried it on 2 or 3 different cars. just gave up with that stuff.

Boutique Microfibers. I've used many, and I'm finding that the Mirage and Vroom towels are just as soft and more durable than these boutique towels. Also, more cost efficient for me.
