EX-P - Looks great and is easy to use but durability isn't good and it has rehazing issues. Not a huge dissappointment but not good enough either.
Menzerna IP and FP - I like Megs DACP and SFP much better in a side by side comparison
Megs Polishing Pads - they fall apart like none other
Great Products:
SIG - It works, as do most stoners products
S100 - easiest to use wax I've ever had and leaves a great shine. It's not suppposed to be as durable as EX-P and that's why it's on the great and not disspointment list.
Poorboys S&W - Didn't like it at first but now it saves so much time and water (especially when it's cold)

Thinking SSR2.5 would be obviously superior to DACP.
Poorboys QD+ was a PITA for me. ITS A SPRAY WAX FOR GOD SAKE SO CALL IT THAT !!!! ITS SW+, OK !!
Nice enough product, riuned the sprayer, and the smell never leaves the MF you use it with.
WG paint cleaner. :nixweiss. Waste of money...like S100 and #9.
SFX Sonus pads. Running them AS DIRECTED below 3.5 - 3 with IP and FP never seemed to "break down" the IP or FP right. Had bad results (marring). Orange pad at 5-6 speeds cleaned up the mess left behind by these pads.
PVA Pads. Sometimes I actually thought it was removing EX-P instead of putting it down! Even with Natty's wax. I give up on these. Washing them out was like squeezing hand cream out of someone's skin.

My 2nd comprehensive detail of my s2000 was 100% easier and 100% better than the first - not due to product change use but because of process - refining it and correcting it after learning on the cars I did in between
Figuring out how to use PBW Pro Polish properly and loving the results

Ed, this is a great thread. All the products that have been mentioned here are also being used successfully by someone else... but they are also probably sitting, unused, maybe 3/4 full on the shelves of those who are disappointed. How about, those who have used a product mentioned here successfully start a thread giving some tips about how to use it? I started a thread like that for the NXT Booster Wax. I hated that product until I figured it out.

Funny how many people are disappointed with Meguiar's products yet they're the number one detail product company in the U.S. I only like three of their products: High Endurance, #16, and #39. Marketing is everything!
My let downs are S100, Sonus SFX polishes (like the pads though), and NXT, with NXT being the biggest disappointment. Overall I have been impressed with all of my other products.

) disappointed with P21S, both the GEPC and the wax. This was on the JXS, which I *am* sorta weird about; I know how *I* want it to look and the P21S just didn't give me that. And I don't see any advantage to their GEPC over Pinnacle PCL, VM, and other similar products that I prefer using (if only due to my familiarity with them). When I want the "P21S look" I'll just use #16 and squint a little when I look at it 
Also disappointed with Griot's Best of Show wax. Not user-friendly (at least for a liquid). So-so looks, poor durability. I found their Machine Polishes too mild for most of my paints, though the #3 is a good, very mild, polish (sorta hard to buff off compared to other products though). I know that others, including 2001civicex have had great results from them though.
I *am* satisfied with Collinite 476S, Souveran, 4* UPP, Griot's Car Wash, Interior Cleaner and polypro window wipes, EFHI, Klasse twins (like the durability, not the look), 1Z polishes, 3M's PI-III RC and MG, MicroRestore, P21S TAW, and, well, too many other products to mention
On a champagne colored car, it didn't seem to be an improvement side by side against UPP, #16 or Natty's.
Then I got rid of the car and have a black one now, so I traded it away for some S100 and Megs 80 if I remember right.
With respect to another post: Would all the people who hate P21S or S100 be willing to sell cheap or trade theirs away?

NXT -- utter dung ..... nothing positive to note.
EX-P -- very thick and hard to regulate, dusty, and looks that are mediocre in a sea of sealants.
Poorboys QD+ -- anyone want a gallon cheap , should have realized this is NXT booster wax type product

4* UPP --- WOW , now this sealant is what EXP, WG, and Blackfire were suppose to be. Easy to use, nice durability, and famous looks
Souveran --- two plus years and cannot find a single fault , this is the carnuba for which all should follow
Sonus Spritz --- this QD for sealants makes a noticable difference to Klasse Twins and looks great on any sealant. Would rank it very close to Z6 in the sealant QD Hall of Fame.

Optimum Spray Wax --- heard the hype and bought it based on price and ease of use. Initially it looked nice atop UPP but doesnt seem to provide the "pop" of Crystal Mist (Carnuba) and Z6/Sonus (other sealants). Clearly easy to use and does seem to provide a thicker consistenency which feels like it should protect better/longer than others. Durability not tested for more than 1 week.

I guess there haven't really been any products I've been that disappointed with. But like others have said, Iâ€â„¢ve not been looking for a miracle cure either.
I guess my favorite single product may be VM (Clearkoteâ€â„¢s Vanilla Moose). Iâ€â„¢ve also gotten quite attached to Megâ€â„¢s #16, just something about an âہ“old schoolâ€Â� carnauba that has been around since 1951, provides good looks along with durability for winter that you just gotta love. Oh, and my favorite new detailing tool is my Simple Green foam gun. Only had a chance to use it once since Christmas but I was impressed, and I like the large ½ gallon container it comes with (I went through more foam than I thought I would).
well i may get killed for this BUT i gotta say i am a little dissapointed in my PC 7424. it does serve its purpose up to my full expectations UNTIL i got my rotary. after getting experienced with my rotary, i started to realize that the PC was not so great. i know that they are two completely different products but the pc can hardly touch my rotary. the pc is suppose to be able to tackle some defects in a safe and effective way. After seeing what a real buffer can do, it just isn't an effective piece of equiment for me. now that i consider myself a true autopian, i really can't see me being impressed with the results a PC provides. If i was not such a avid detailer, i would probably be really satisfied but i'm just not. it just can not remove some swirls and for me, that is a really frustrating product. i don't completely hate it, dont' get me wrong, but i just think as far as its polishign ability, it just dissapoints me. i think its great for spreading a sealent or a wax, but as far as defect removal, it just doesn't cut it for me. another let down was the SSR2. at first, i thought it was a great product, but after using it a few times, it just doesn't cut all that well and its a ***** to get out of the bottle it comes in. i had to switch that right away. and my biggest let down was the Forever Black. that product did not do anything except leave a complete mess.

Well, since I started this thread I'll say Menzerna Intensive polish. Its a very good polish, very good gloss, nice shine but some distributers advertize this as the holy grail for swirl/defect removal, which in my tests it did not measure up. Its a good polish, but not in the compound category as some market it as.

You're absolutely right, the PC is not able to do what a rotary can do. However, the PC is a very capable machine but it will not be able to remove serious defects to the extent a rotary will. For a vehicle that is always in good to excellent condition, a PC is great. If you are a professional detailer that regularly deals with neglected vehicles than a rotary is a must.
That said, I may move up to a rotary sometime this year.
