List your products that did not meet the hype

Some pleasant surprises:

-Final Detail

I don't know why more people don't talk about this product. It is an exellent canuba/polymer spray that can easily be used as a QD or clay lube too. One year when I had a real job this was the only product I used on my truck for months and it always was well protected. For people who want a quicky wax job after a wash this stuff is very good. For those of you who haven't heard about this it's Final Detail by Dupont.

Ah, not be confused with the discontinued Meg's Final detail. I'd like to learn more about these Dupont body shop products. Available only through Dupont paint and body supply stores? Any website? Thanks!

Their 20oz formula is the newer formula and is a little better IMO. That is the buy 3 get one free spray wax on the site. The old formula is good too, but the upgraded one is all around better. Unfortunately I think if you buy the gallon size it's the old formula. So if you wanted a volume discount I'd stick with buying 3 and getting one free.

Not to mention the guy dresses so hawt for QVC

I was talking about Meguiar's Final Detail. And that stuff you linked to doesn't seem to be made by Dupont, rather it has Zonyl in it.

What didn't you like about SSR 2.5?

It just didn't work as well as I thought it would. It takes a long time to break down and is soo thick, I needed to use more product than I would have liked. I switched to 3M PI II and III RC and was blown away with the results and ease of use. The 3M removed twice the defects in half the time.

1. Did not work for me

> Meg #80

> Clearkote QD

> Dry wash system

2. Wow

> SSR 2.5

> 4* UUP sealant

3. Not sexy but always works

> AIO

> Zaino QD

> Souveran paste

4. Sleeper

> Souveran liquid

5. Don't get the vibe

> VM

> EX-P

My only real disappointment this year would probably be #9. I'm sure a majority of the problem is that I am doing it by hand, which is a major problem. #81 wasn't bad, still use it, its just harder to work with and doesnt look as good as i thought it would under#16

Good products:

*ScratchX (once Mike Phillips told me how to use it, it really does work well, but on black can only achieve limited results)

*#16 (again, once you learn to use it)

*Rain-X -- just a good product. Never had any streaking issues, sure it doesnt last forever, but I'm happy with the around 2 months i get out of it

*303 - just incredible stuff

*Eagle 1 20/20 - great glass cleaner

* Woolite mix -- whoever thought this one up was a genius

Thats pretty much been my year. Hopefully this year will bring in the PC and a chance to try poorboys and menzerna stuff... I can only hope :)
