List your products that did not meet the hype

While not hype, I haven't had the best of luck with SSR2.

NXT>me, because I couldn't get it to apply as easily as everyone else can :nixweiss

LC VC pad. Broke on me the 2nd time I used it. 1st time was for 3 minutes on the only horizontal fender on my Jeep (roughly 1.5 square feet...?)

I love my LC VC pads =p I have a total of 8.

I now HATE 3m fi2 SMR for dark cars. Awful product to me, but I will use it when i feel like filling swirls up.

Any more reviews on ssr 1,2, and 3?

Glenn,

I think you have a rare bad pad here. I have 6 LC pads and they have all held up very well. I must have 4 types of pads now and the LCs are my favorite and appear the most well made.

I think you should contact Eric Dunn "bufferman71" and see if you can do an exchange...

"Thought you were a Perls guy?"

I like that also but now I like Exclusiv better. I sometimes alternate but P21S is my fave.

Disappointments.....

1) Pinnacle SMR's. I may not have giving them a fair shot, but both of these products marred my finish, and I already have other products that I use that do not. That said, I don't use them any more. I actually have 3 or so bottles that are full or nearly full.....

2) NXT quick wax. Oh, what a mess!

3) Klasse SG. Removal is a pain, and other sealers are just soooo much easier to work with. I'm not sure that I have a fav. sealer. I rotate FMJ, WG, EX, EX-P, and UPP. Lately UPP x 1 and EX x 2 has been my favorate on dark non metallics.

4) Menzerna Glaze & FMJ car wash. Probably the only 2 menzerna products that I've tried and will not buy again.

Disappointments :

4* UPP --- WOW , now this sealant is what EXP, WG, and Blackfire were suppose to be. Easy to use, nice durability, and famous looks

Broke out the "Secret Decoder Ring" and found two entries for UPP:

1. "UP, UPP, 1ZUP Einszett Ultra Paint Polish"

2. "UPP Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection, also PUPP"

Which one are you talking about?

-Dennis

303 vinyl protectant. It may have all these "invisible" qualities (uv blocking etc) but I get the same LOOK when I wipe my vinyl down with a damp cloth.

I didnt like

Gold Class - Blotchy and difficult to remove, durability sucks

Autogylm SRP - Dusty, cheap, not a nice look at all

Turtle wax tyre protectant - lots of sling and tyres are way to bling!

Meguiars Crystal polish and #7 show car glaze - good shine, lasts a show!! difficult to remove.

NXT wax - Doesn't last more than 2 weeks.

Products I like just now

SSR2.5 - can haze, but removes swirling etc quick & easily

EX-P - Slick if when used with VM

Nattys - Brilliant wax, easy on off

#16 - Finally learned how to use it, good durability

#80 - Favourite "go to"

#2: The name has changed from "Platinum" to Four Star UPP, commonly referred to here as UPP, 4* UPP, and FS UPP.

Here is a product link:

I believe they are in the process of updating the Acronym list. Another common one you don't see on the list (yet) is LSP. That stands for Last Step Product (wax or sealer).

Isn't that the point with 303? It is supposed to give a relatively flat finish? That is what I like about it.

I think what Uncle means is that you can't even tell that it's there/working. So you're not really sure if it's still even there after a while because it always looks the same.

I've been testing #16 extensively lately. I don't like it at all. S100 looks better and lasts as long on my wife's Camry.

Why wasn't MOTHERS mentioned much?????? Do they produce better quality products???

I don't think it has to do with quality of products as much as there hadn't been any new releases last year that were hyped from Mothers. No matter how good a product may be, there are almost always detractors.

This year, however, I expect more than a couple reviews/debates about their new Reflections®, F/X® and Power® lines. (None of which are going to be available in Canada :( )

For me, after getting e-mails and checking out pictures from a certain site it has to be Souvran and Blackfire. Although they were absolutley correct on FMJ, love it. I also had P21S and there was no difference between that and Souvran IMO.

Back in the day I had bought Malm's products talk about disappionted.

For Souvran I followed the directions to the tee, wash, polish and I think up to 6 coats and a little crystal mist. Big waste of time and money. Didn't come close to the hype.

Hey guys, youll love this one....

Yesterday i was going through some boxes and i came across Dura-Shine :)

I will throw that into this thread, it sucks.
