Holy sheet: EXO v CSL v CSL w/EXO - A longevity test

LOL - oh man. 90 seconds? That`s it? Just messing...but... That`s almost nothing, when comparing it to some of the hour plus uploads I`ve had to deal with on YouTube.

Don`t even worry about it. I know what it`s like to go through all that work, then you end up with something not quite working. Yeah, frustrating to say the least.

Thanks for trying, and the continued status reports!

I don`t know why they didn`t upload..the ones on my car earlier today uploaded just fine

I ended up going over the truck with ECH20 1:15 and a micro. it sure does have a nice gloss

wednesday afternoon after the 2bm wash I topped whole truck with ech20

im finally getting back some nice beads on the csl and exov2 only sides

CSL +EXO looks like a sure fire beads winner. I wonder how CSI alone does longevity wise. I think I may try get csl EXO done to my car this spring.

I have five months of it on the hood alone (well, topped in the recent past so call it 4 months give or take some days)

the problem with people like myself is the need to top it.

my friend in south Carolina with the tored scat pack charger has CSL on it and he bought Cure at my recommendation after we topped the csl after a road trip last summer when he was down here in Texas

he`s been using cure once a month or so and washing only 2bm with super slick and suds and he says it still performs like new..the cure makes that red really pop more and keeps the coating fresh and beading... it seemed to me that CSL started to lose some of its awesome beading ability around 4 months without topping it with anything, just washing and drying

granted this is just my experience, which is documented in this thread somewhat

Ech2o does bead pretty nice. It is one thing I noticed about it. So I can see why you are getting good beading again. It is supposed to last about a couple weeks. But it does look great in the gloss department. How did it look over all the combinations you have? Was one area glossier than the other?

It could be time for a decon wash to remove some of the contaminants that have built up on the paint.

the csl + exo looks best... its not as easy to tell the differences until the paint gets wet and you look at the paint though the water beads, the csl alone has the darkest effect of the three...exo alone is somewhat brighter...but you top csl with exo and it`s pretty crazy.

i didn`t notice any improvement on beading with the csl + exo side after i put the ech20 on it..if anything it diminished it some, the beads weren`t as hovering as they used to be....

sadly i think my eyes don`t like water contact angles that are not 115 and above anymore I don`t think. lol ... first world detail problems

yeah I need to apply some BDX next time...I was gonna try and wait for the 6month mark so if it brings back the csl and exo only sides to their original glory I can have some documentation of it and be able to show my clients why they still need to see me twice a year after the coating

edit
..unless of course they wanna pony up for CSL + EXO because that stuff is essentially bulletproof thus far

Hmm this csl/exo combi makes me wanna polish off gloss coat and try it. Must resist!

it`s quite ridiculous

take this example of a hood wet with water in the morning

I drive about a mile to get to the access road to the interstate though residential areas on a road with a 30mph speed limit

once my truck hits about 22mph the CSL + EXOv2 side starts to move the water off that section of the hood- while literally Nothing is happening on the CSL and EXOv2 only sides (until I make a right turn onto the access road and the larger CSL beads make their way to the CSL + EXOv2 side and fly off the hood

at 25 the CSL+ EXOv2 is already moving and by the time I get to 40 it`s almost all off the truck

the CSL and EXOv2 only sides take Highway speeds to start moving off (that`s 70mph btw)

the difference is Night and Day when you top CSL with EXOv2 based on my experience

I`m curious to see how my CSL + EXOv2 vs CSL + EXOv3 test turns out (will share that eventually) because v3 has 5-10 degrees less of contact angle...part of me thinks its not going to be as good as v2 AS A TOPPER for CSL... which is why I plan to test them side by side to see for myself

as a side note the fender that has 6 or 7 or even maybe 8 layers of EXOv2 on it is still performing at 100% as it was after applied....

I think you need at least 4 layers of EXOv2 minimum...but who has time for that? (besdies me,lol)

hosed down
RW with flake
dried with large pfm towel
applied zirkon to entire truck and chrome- via mf applicator block-definitely worked better than spraying on the panel or towel

your far left: exov2, middle: csl, far right csl+exov2
one week shy of 6 months..this time I washed with pblv2 shampoo and rinsed

decontamination wash 1.15.17 and only one wash since then but I have used toppers which have assisted the exov2 and csl sections a bit. the combo side, well it has stayed pretty much the same, even when dirty it beads and sheets ike crazy

this is csl in middle vs csl+exo on right

exov2 (either 7 or 8 layers, I forgot how many I ended up doing to be honest) and its at a week or so over 5 months

csl+exov2 on the door - a week or so above 5 months

this is the pblv2 vs csl door (the passenger rear door), left half has pblv2

Just a quick update- It has only been washed twice, period. Once with P101 shampoo before I coated the rest of the passenger side and c2v3 only on driver side.

It`s been about two weeks since I put all the products above on the truck

In those two weeks the truck has only been rinsed with high pressure soap/water once. (about a week ago) and then I drove off and came back to the coin op and wiped it down with a WW towel and Spray and Gloss- vehicle was almost clean already but the lower panels needed a little bit of help from the cleaning properties of Spray and Gloss

this truck has also been through three rain storms before that time and it BARELY gets dirty. it`s kind of nice, actually

I plan to wash it again this evening as its supposed to rain the rest of the week and I kind of like seeing all the different beads on the truck.

I think I`m gonna wash it with something that has some wax in it for that added wax depth.

I took a few videos of the wash but its nothing that I haven`t posted before- but the fun part was seeing the multiple layers of EXOv2 on the passenger fender just shed off water like a madman, lol

The CSL w C2V3 is PHENOMENAL- almost as good as the CSL w EXO on top .. considering the ease of applying the CSL + C2V3 (spray), its definitely going to be my 1-2 punch with CSL from now on.

Hell, even the C2v3 side alone offers some pretty intense water behavior and shedding ability. there are just tiny little dirt beads with trail marks down the sides of my truck indicating they were dashing across the surface quite a ways
Ah...here it is! This might be my next combo.
