Are you guys heating it up or scooping some out or something?
tom p. said:I did my car today w/FK 1000p. I ended up laying down 2 coats of 1000p following WS Prime. The FK1000p has a truly wet appearance on this color:

tom p. said:Thanks, Super. I did the body of the car with WS Acrylic Prime - - that worked awesome on this paint. I let the first coat of 1000p "dry" for about 1/2 hr. I then took a break and had lunch. I returned about 45 mins later to do the 2nd coat, which I attempted to lay down very thin - - not sure if I was successful.
I do find some residue coming off with this product. It's not dust, almost like tiny little particles. I should have switched to a clean pad when I layed down the 2nd coat of 1000p. The stuff on the pad had started to dry and seemed to leave more tiny little particles as I went along. Even after laundering my pads yesterday, i still find some of this particulate-like matter embedded in that pad. Kind of strange.
SuperBee364 said:Those Menzerna lube oils can be really resistant to removal. I've found that a pretty good way to see if there's any Menz lube left on the clear is the "squeaky finger" test: after an IPA wipedown, the paint should feel slick but somewhat "squeaky". If it's just slick, there's still Menz lube on the paint.

bert31 said:Sup, have you (or anyone else for that matter) tried FK's 714 (Solv's It Wax, Grease and Tar Remover) to remove Menz oils? Sounds like it is some pretty strong stuff and my take the place of multiple IPA wipe downs and save some time.
