Will this buff out?

Scott, glad you're OK and hope you're not sore in the morning!

Thanks!

I hope I am not sore in the morning either. When my son's car got rearended, it took 4 weeks of therapy to get my back feeling normal again.

If the car is a total, his insurance company doesn't have to cover a rental once they decide to total it, even if it is two weeks until I get a check so I may not get to be too picky.

Oh, now that just sucks. Man, I hope this works out for you, Scott.:(

Glad to hear you're ok! Even if you're not hurting, I'd go get a check up at a chiropractor and get some correction done. It'll all be covered under insurance, so its better to get fixed than to feel it later on. I didn't get treated until 2yrs after my accident (rear-end, totaled) and regret not getting corrected earlier.

Not sure how I am going to get all my detailing stuff out of the trunk, going to take a crowbar to get it open and the box containing my pads and polishers won't fit though the rear seat pass-thru.

If the car has a rear seat pass-through, just take the items out one by one :idea

Well main thing is you walked away Scott. I know that it sucks. But a car you can always replace but a life we can't. I sounds like its going to be totaled. Hope you get something you want .Glad your ok.

The good part in here is that you are OK and that you walked out. Cars are replacable, and I'm sure the kid learned a lesson, or at least I hope he did...

The container with my buffer and pads absolutely won't fit through the pass-thru, so the trunk lid will have to be opened to get it out.

Right now, I feel fine. No pain, etc. When my son's car got hit, the next morning my back was pretty sore. Next few days will tell for sure though. I'm fixin' to get some pics of the underside where I was hit. Looked pretty nasty last night but not enough light for pics.

The most amazing thing was that when he knocked me sideways across oncoming traffic, there was a break in the traffic (and it was just after 7 PM so rush hour still isn't quite over) and I didn't get t-boned. That was a real blessing. :)

Oh Man glad to hear you are ok. Too bad on the accident . Cars can always be repalce your butt is another story . Well maybe was time to get a new ride .....

Cheers , Jean Paul

^Yeah thats the first thing I thought is this could have been a lot worse with you being pushed into the other lane backwards. Glad you are ok!

Crowbar the trunk and if you need to drive it tie it down with some rope or bungy cord.

I'm assuming you can't tip the container over, and remove the items individually?

That sucks dude, The same thing happened to me and my brand new car (I'll never buy a new car again). The damage was very similar and it was 6 grand worth, of course this was a brand new (4 months old) vw so used parts weren't an option.

I hope they total it for you, you don't want to have to deal with a black repaint. You can be as picky as anyone and it's still not going to be the same...

I doubt it. Anyway, I went out and I can open the trunk, reclosing it means I have to push in the lid hard enough to line it up again.

Here are a few daylight pics...

Can you say backpressure?

I used the jack handle from my floor jack to bend the tips sort of back into shape.

Since my parents are going out of state for a wedding tomorrow through Sunday, I may be able to use one of their cars and avoid getting a rental. I know the other guy's insurance will cover it, but I don't want to pay for a week or two of rental and then have to wait for them to reimburse me.
