Underrated products.

Driven to Perfection.

Quick spray concentrate, Auto Polish (works on over 20 surfaces, unpainted and painted), Protective wash (turns water purple and smells similar to 4 star ultimate, finish restorer (really gritty medium polish)

SFX 2 Version 1. been some years since that was replaced and with some glycerin is better than SFX 2 Version 2 with wetter finish.

Toughseal step 1 : lubricates the paint, cleans the paint ready for sealing and waxing, great by machine on rear bumpers.

Fireglaze : What a terrific sealant . tough as nails, great trim polish and glaze.

Four star Paint cleanser

Carlack 68 plastic care aka Jeffs

200 MPH car wash (banana ice cream topping, sudsy, protects, conditions and leaves a beautiful gloss

Prima : everything

Diamondite speed clay : the real liquid clay. just keep it away from trims.

Soft 99 Color evolution coloured super soft polishes. Use by hand for super wet finish with no wax or fillers. By machine it can be finicky but worth it sometimes.

Gliptone leather cleaner and conditioner. Highly revered product and expensive in the UK, inexpensive and easy to get in the US by mail order. Easier to use and works better than Lexol and Leatherique.

cool. I've never used leatherique but thought it must be the best due to the results people get with it. Same for gliptone, never tried any of their gear.

i forgot to mention... this stuff rocks :up , but gets pricey at around $5 a bottle...

Not when you compare it to wheels cleaners like DP, P21S, Surf City, etc..

while i'm sure those do a good job if not better, i prefer to pick up the formentioned because i've had excellent results with it, and it's available OTC and i don't have to order it online. but since there are 3 vehicles in the family, i can go through it pretty fast...

Whic equals to getting something online, IMHO. If you go through it quick, it might be cheaper just to buy it ny the gallon, and in the long run, will be cheaper.

for now, good ole car soap and water works...

I would previously say SM Arnold sheepskin wash mitts. I could get them for $4-5 per, and they were great. High quality, thick and soft. However, lately the ones I've gotten have been of variable quality in terms of thickness and softness. And worse, they came with plant material embedded in both the wool and the skin. Not quite like thistles, but sorta similar, some kind of grass seed or something. A real pain to pick out before using. I am hoping this is just a fluke, but if the next batch I buy is like that, I guess I'll be searching for an alternative.

I would still say Meguiar's #00 car wash, it is effective and quite mild. The same is true of their #36 wheel cleaner, though the last two I used had the sprayer break in short order. Their Gold Class bug & tar remover is again, effective and mild. I tend to prefer mild products (assuming they do the job of course).

I'd x3 the Eagle 1 all wheel cleaner, it's great when the wheels are quite dirty. Cuts right through the brake dust and I can buy it locally.

really? i've used quite a few of them with no problems...

i remember when target carried the vroom sheepskin mitts and those had sorta like pine needles imbedded deep in them IME, and coincidently they don't sell them anymore...

I would like to add one to "not rated" products. I recently purchased some Mothers brand detailing towels for $4.99 each from an online retailer called Detailer's Dream (google to find url or PM me). These are 20x24-inch korean fiber 70/30 satin covered edge towels made by the same company that makes the great Viking towels (green detailing and yellow drying towel). You get more for the same price as many online places selling 70/30 towels 16x20 for the same price or more. Kmart sells a 16x20 Viking towel (70/30 dual nap) for 5.99. Check online for similar composition towels. I stumbled across these a couple of weeks back.
