Duragloss Car Wash #901- ( gentle, great shine, no water spotting )

under some unfortunate circumstances, i had to wash in the sun and with other car wash's i would get some water spotting, not so with the DG CWC #901... :up

I would like to add one to "not rated" products. I recently purchased some Mothers brand detailing towels for $4.99 each from an online retailer called Detailer's Dream (google to find url or PM me). These are 20x24-inch korean fiber 70/30 satin covered edge towels made by the same company that makes the great Viking towels (green detailing and yellow drying towel). You get more for the same price as many online places selling 70/30 towels 16x20 for the same price or more. Kmart sells a 16x20 Viking towel (70/30 dual nap) for 5.99. Check online for similar composition towels. I stumbled across these a couple of weeks back.

yep, both those mothers/viking mf's are excellent! :2thumbs:

Auto Magic: Triple 777- A Great Product!

Klasse: AIO: great cleaner, gets everything OFF.

Meguiar's: Last Touch- Boy oh Boy!

Meguiar's: NXT- A very nice product, nice results, easy to use.

Meguiar's: DACP- For paint correction with PC

Eagle One A-Z - Great wheel cleaner, can be found at almost any auto store.

S100: I really like this wax, and have tried many but nothing over 20 bucks!

Stoner: Invisable Glass- Everyone will think you have no windows or left them open.

Poorboys 2.5: a great polish, great to work with!

Poorboys spray and wipe: became so addicted, it's not funny anymore.

Poorboys Polish w/ Carnuba: great look, one step.

Clearkote: VMW- this stuff is amazing!

i could go on for days, some of these products may not be so underrated, but I enjoy them

Since we're talking UNDER-rated...

I'm going to have to throw mention up for Meg's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow wax. I've had great success with it. Durability wise it destroys NXT. I've had it last ~3 months in our harsh Alberta winters, and I've found it as easy to apply & remove as many of Meg's other LSPs.

I also think Meg's #20 Polymer Sealant is underrated.

I too am a believer in Meg's #26. It looks fantastic on my new black pathfinder and i've had great durability with it even in VA's crazy climate. I tend to reach for it over my 845 IW bottle!

I also think Mother's cleaner wax is underated.

I love Meg's Color X!

I have plenty of boutique products too:

-Any menzerna polish i've had excellent results from

-Klasse All in One is tough to beat

-845 IW has nice looks and is pretty durable

This stuffs not even made anymore but TW Extreme Cleaner wax never ceases to amaze me. I just now washed, then went over the car with a coat of DG105 when I noticed how I had some prominent webbing and marring that I thought I had taken care of when I hit it with the orbital and DG pre-cleaner 3 months ago!

So for the heck of it I did a section with the TWECW and BAM. MArring gone, webbing drastcally reduced. Maybe its got fillers in it but that stuff rocks. So of course I went over the whole car again.

I wish they made it or sometging comparable. By hand Ive used it to wipe off cat scratches like they were dirt.

surf city glass cleaner is the best glass cleaner on the planet.the rest of the line has some hidden gems as well.

Back from the dead, but I'd like to throw in:

Meg's #40--excellent cleaner and light conditioner for vinyl and plastic. UV protection with only a hint of gloss. I use it if CP causes a dull/dry look.

Werkstat Satin Prot--as good as Z16, but nobody uses it???

DG carwash--better than anything else I can find locally.

7 1/2" CCS pads--I really like the more cushioned versions from PAC. Too big for compounding (I use a PC), but finishing and AIOs are great with them.

3M Perfect-It 3000 series--Ultrafina is the only popular product from this line, but I like the rubbing compounds too, though I can't tell a difference between the regular and extra-cut compounds.

DG leather products--Reminds me of Zaino at 1/2 the cost (and available in bulk for cheap).

Laundry detergent--Makes a decent (and very safe) degreaser for engines and such. Doesn't attack labels and paint as bad as the more aggressive degreasers. I mix up a gallon of water with a capful of detergent and keep in a bug sprayer. Good for wheels and tires, too.

turtle wax paltinum all metal and billet polish. nothing has worked so efficiently for me, shines everything almost instantly.

Satin protect aka carlack 68 plastic care is my favourite tyre gel prep, wheel arch spray and textured plastic conditioner

An absolutely superb silicone free VLRP product

Great idea. Gonna try this on the next engine I do. Thanks!

I tried out Blue Coral's leather conditioner this weekend. It smells and works just like one of the big names (I'm not going to drop the name, as it's going to turn into a he said she said), but it's a fine product for a "carwash brand".

CG's Maxi Suds is a great product too. On par with any soap I've tried, real nice through a foamgun too.

DP also makes an excellent carwash soap.

3m performance finnish and mothers syn wax are great products.. both last atleast 3-4 months for me.

meguiars deep crystal polish... not really a polish... has no cut whatsoever... completley non abrasive.. just full or increadible oils that do wonders on old hazy paint thats too thin to take anything abrasive to.. this darkens them right up, and its avaibable cheaply almost anywhere, just keep in mind its temporary results.

meguiars cleaner wax is almost like a very mild hand polish, that just leaves a little protection as a bonus.

eagle ones nano protectant gives a good low gloss look and lasts for a long time.

mothers power polish is also great. cut is dependent on pad, can actually do a good bit of correction, and finnish down nicley. lsp ready

Agree with Duragloss. Also SONAX Premium Class Paint Cleaner is great ,,, " a pre-wax cleaner, meaning it cleans and perfects auto paint before wax is applied. This additional step improves the shine, depth, and durability of the wax by eliminating anything between the paint and the wax. That includes old wax buildup, dirt, and silicones.

Duragloss 253 to me is the best tire dressing I've used. Don't see much mention though.

Interesting to go through the list in this old thread. Much of it is still relevant.

I recently used S100/P21S Polishing Soap and have to agree that it's awesome as a mild metal polish and protectant. So easy to use and gentle yet very effective. Doing a Harley next week so will definitely be using it on the chrome.

Nothing like resurrecting an old, but good, thread:

To ScottWax:

How many of the original products that were listed do you still use on regular basis??

Which ones have been replaced by something newer or more effective??
