Underrated products.

What products perform well for you that you don't see too many others using?

My list would be:

1. Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. Really nice liquid carnauba, noticable darkening effect and decent durability. Lately, I've been using it a lot more than Pinnacle Souveran.

2. Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze. Great product for removing light (on harder paints) to moderate (on softer paint) defects and it leaves a deep, wet shine.

3. Optimum Protectant Plus. Excellent low shine protectant that is suitable for vinyl and leather.

4. BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner. I can't say enough good things about this carpet/fabric cleaner. 32:1 dillution ratio means a $23 gallon will make 32 gallons of cleaner. So effective, I can spray a lot of light surface stains, allow a couple minutes of dwell time and the stains are gone. Just a light wipe with a terry cloth towel and run the vacuum over it and done!

5. Poorboy's EX w/Carnauba. Absolutely bullet proof to use in the full sun, straight up noon on black paint. Not my ideal waxing conditions but it spreads easily and wipes off effortlessly even under those conditions. Nice compromise between the look of a sealant and that of a carnauba.

Where do you buy your BioKleen Scott?

Actually there are no fillers in poli-seal, the results you are seeing is what you get.

In the description ona utogeek it actually specifically states no fillers, so it is actually working even better than you expected!

Wow, thanks for info. Optimum does not update their site and I remember when Poli-Seal came out I was told it contains fillers. Glad I now know it does not.

No joke.
We are open ears. What do you use it for?[/QUOTE]

Concrete stains, water spots...

It's a minor acid that is effective in many detailing applications. And is less than $1.

Great post, Paul. :hifive:

Optimum car wash.

Great suds, and rinses clean right away. Still can't find a better wash...

I think citrus wash and gloss is underrated, that stuff is just great for getting grime off of daily drivers before a full polishing.

I also think that using ONR at QD strength is underrated. It is so darn cheap, it is the best QD (IMO) to use before LSP and it has great cleaning power and lubrication.

Chemical guys elite microfiber towels are underrated as well, they are my favorite microibers period.

Oh yea, and megs trim detailer gel, I love this stuff for black plastic trim.

as soon as i read the post, #80 sprung to mind.

Megs seems to get a " :ignore" reaction from people,,, but #80 is an absolute staple in my kit.

I think thats because #80 tends to gum up a lot when used on a rotary. At least thats why it's not my go-to as ar as rotary goes (95% of the time I am using a rotary).

Microfiber towels from Target, best buy for your money. Big Blue drying towel from properautocare. Kiwi Liquid shoe polish for faded trim.

I never hear this product mentioned, but I love using Meguiar's #9 swirl remover as my second step product. I use their #80 or #83 as the first step (depending on how much correction is needed) but with either of those I find it leaves my black paint just a little bit hazy, so I have found that #9 cleans it up very nicely! You can't do much correction with #9 (at least not on hard paint) but it certainly is good for getting rid of micromarring. I also find that #21 bonds better to #9 than it does to #80. When I was using #80 followed by #21, I would find that #21 left behind some streaking in spots, but when I use #9 first it doesn't do that.

I think Meguiar's products in general are under rated, they make excellent products that are easy to find and don't cost an arm and a leg!

1. Megs #82, just as good as #80 and does the same amount of correcting and leaves a brilliant gloss.

2. Megs #26

3. Magic erasers

4. Mothers showtime QD

5. Clay magic, absolute winner and can be found at any autozone, carquest and PBE store, plus its stupid cheap.

6. Edge wool pads, more people should be using them!!

With the exception of a couple products, I still think that most of the DG line is underrated. There are many more products in the DG line than AW and the sealants, and they all work very well, among the best I've used actually, but they are rarely discussed.

I'll agree and point out the DG Marine Detail Spray and their leather conditioner as my picks.

some products I think worth mentioning....

1. LA Awesome cleaners...the APC and the Orange oxy cleaner...$1 a bottle at the dollar store...very good cleaners....

2. DG #501 Marine polish..best AIO type cleaner I have used...really cleans paint and has very good durability..I have topped it Klasse SG...Zaino...UPP and no problems with any bonding issues....I mean this stuff cleans...I have mixed 1oz of menz 106FF to 4 oz of 501 and it made a great cleaner and correction product with a super wet gloss.....

3. Zep Carpet cleaners...the extractor one and also the straight shampoo...this stuff really cleans carpet and upholstery...and 7.99 a gallon....

4. Edge wool pads and also the LC Purple Foamed pad....both are great products....
