Tire finish, NOT high gloss!

I usually use Megs Endurance, Adam's VRT or Megs Hot Shine. Lately, I've been using Hot Shine the most. I go through phases where I switch tire shines. I think what make of tire you're dressing makes a difference. I hear a lot of people say Hot Shine is too glossy, but I really like it....and I'm not one for super glossy tires.

Indeed. I used to love Meg's Endurance High Gloss... but I used it after a long time this weekend, and quite honestly, thought it was a bit too shiny!

Regardless, the great thing about it is that after a few days, it "evolves" into this great level of shine - and then stays there for up to two weeks (assuming it doesn't rain) :usa

Anyone try any of these:

Eimann Fabrik Ultra Black Tire Dressing

Eimann Fabrik Black Sapphire Tire Gel

Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel

Eimann Fabrik is definately the best tire dressing I have ever used...And I have used a lot. The Gel will leave a very high gloss, and the Ultra Black leaves a Dark Black wet look. The Ultra Black has absolutely 0 sling.

I have had great luck with the Turtle Wax Platinum Tire Gel. It lasts at least 2 or 3 weeks and has a medium shine to it. Plus you can pick it up at Odd Lots for around $3.

I've come to realize that the composition of different brands of tires are significant enough to make the same tire dressing look completely different. I have 3 cars with 3 different brands of tires and I like Z-16 on one, Megs Endurance (low gloss) on another and TOL Grape tire dressing on my truck tires. With my customers cars I go with what looks best and ten get some feedback from them about how long it lasted.

I've been testing the Duragloss 265DS (Ultimate Detail Spray, Aerosol) on my car for the last 4 weeks. Its not a foam, you spray it on like spray paint and is totally dry to the touch after about an hour. Initially it had a nice black look with a medium sheen about equal to Z-16. However, spraying insead of wiping it on leaves a very smooth looking tire with no drips or pooling in the crevices. And the raised lettering looked very neat and not all gooped up. After the first rain the low sheen went to more of a matte finish. Reminds of how a tire just treated with 303 looks. Well it has stayed like that for over 3 weeks. It has kept that clean black matte new tire look and it is still beading water nicely. You can definately tell that there is still something protecting the tires, it just doesn't have that 'wet look'. I've just wiped them with my wheel sponge during my weekly wash to knock off the loose dirt.

I'm gonna let it stay on until the beading goes away.

I just do not like the high gloss dressings because you can never get the gloss uniform across the entire tire and in the bright sun the areas of high and lower gloss are obvious. You end wiping it down so much trying to make it even that why bother

I think that a semi shine look is much better then the oily look. It adds a much more respectable shine that isn't overdone.

I picked this up from Big Lots. It's super shiny on my tires and it's sticky as well - attracts a fair amount of dust. It does last (tried to wash it off three times and it didn't budge). Maybe good for places that get a lot of rain. It did come with it's own applicator and was cheap.

I recommend Poorboy's BNB - may not last as long as a gel but dries to a nonstick finish and the desired amount of shine can be achieved with repeated applications.

I agree with Zingy. I have been using Natural Look for a few weeks now and must say that I'm very pleased with it. It's very easy to apply (I use a foam applicator), gives a nice even finish, doesn't sling and gives tires that nice new look. Lasts a good week!
