Tire finish, NOT high gloss!

Recently, I started using my power washer to clean tires/rims/inner fenders and good golly miss molly! no more scrub brushing for me. I spray EO allwheel& tire cleaner, let sit and rinse away with the washer and a 25 degree tip on the wand. Prep work lays the foundation for any tire dressing and after the tire drys and use DG 253, works for me.

Another vote for Duragloss 253 Tire and Rubber Dressing.

Leaves a nice matte finish that isn't slick and oily and doesn't sling. It's pretty economical too at about $8.29 for 19 ounces.

Another vote for Duragloss dressing. Really another nice DG product, leaves a matte sheen, and lasts a pretty long time for me as well. Their Tire Dressing or Vinyl/Rubber dressing work pretty similarly for me.

also the canned tire foam like No Touch that are in the 2-3 dollar range have been a good choice for non-high gloss product

No Touch is a nice OTC product, especailly for SUV tires. I spray, wait 5 minutes and the wipe with an old sock (and toss it). Comes out nice and even and looks like new tires. Z16 is also great but it takes a while to build up enough to where it lasts and then dirt sticks to the tire and makes it look like there is no protectant there, but that is easily fixed with a wash.

I think a lot of great products have been mentioned. But I would like to add Meguiar's Endurance tire gel to the list. It's available in a matte version. And it's long lasting too.

Another vote for Mother's Reflections and FX. 303 is quite expensive so I'll save it for the trim and interior.

Ive used Griots garage weatherproof tire dressing. its matte , and almost like a tire "stain" and is supposed to last up to 3 months. i wouldnt buy it again though - too much of a PITA if you get it on the rim.

This is a picture of what I don't like, Duragloss 253. It is still to shinny!

The picture of the Mothers Reflections was really nice. Does it last long?

I will have to find some pictures of Optimum before I can say anything.

Meguiar's Endurance Tire Gel, same thing I'll have to find some pictures. One thing about this one is I have a distributer of there products fairly close who will give me great prices.

Z16, I don't know what that is or who makes it.

Thanks for the information guys.

Z16 is made by Zaino. I'll try to throw a small sample of that and some Poorboy's Bold N Bright into your care package for you to try. Those are the two two dressings that I currently like the best.

Maybe I am doing something wrong  . I got a bottle of Eagle One with an additional 25% of product added almost free and figured I would try it....the darn stuff is in my opinion GREAT :wow: ! I apply it with a dedicated tire shine sponge applicator and the stuff has a real dark satiny finish and beads water for weeks...I was amazed. First time I wiped it down in a few minutes, but the second time I forgot to wipe, and it didn't seem to make a difference. I am sold :heelclick on EO...or at least for now or until I run accross something else better

hum, looks like you really don't want any shine at all.

In that case, maybe you can just get away with thoroughly cleaning the tire and that's it, although it won't be too black.

If you don't mind reapplying basically every week, then scrub and clean the tire then use Armor All Tire Foam (the regular, cheap one). Deep black with a gentle black glow... make sure to wipe it off after it sets!

You'll get best results if you clean the tire really well before applying the dressing, especially with water based ones like BNB. You want to remove all traces of previously used silicone based dressings. You still won't get weeks and weeks of shine (especially if it rains), but it might help.

Z16 is pretty shinny.
I don't doubt that you are correct because I have seen pictures of Z16 that looked a lot more glossy than I experience. It must depend on the tire because I have not had a problem with it looking too shiny. On one set of tires I have it doesn't get much more than a satin finish even after two or three applications. It does seem to last longer than BNB, but I haven't done any real tests to prove that. I should clean my tires and do a LF, RR with Z16 and a RF, LR with BNB and see how they hold up.

John, thanks for the reply, intervention, and information.

Nic, I'm sorry I don't like it, but I don't. If you like it that's fine.

Paul, No, I really don't want a shine. I prefer a moist/flat/sexy/muted look, not a shinny pimp look. Thanks for your input.

Another vote for Meg's Endurance Original Shine.

Armor All makes a Low gloss version that would work well.

Really, almost any product can be made less glossy by wiping off the excess
