Progress on our garage

Alright, it's been slow lately but here are some pics of what we have done. We went ahead and got some shelving in, and started populating the shelves. Not to jump the gun or anything, but we really needed the room and everything was sitting on the garage floor..which we are tyring to prep to paint.

And we qiuckly figured out that it was a bear to get a lot of stuff up onto the loft, so we invested in a crane type operation. Here that is, and its great to have.

Anyways, thats got it covered :2thumbs:

btw thanks for all of the comments!

Man that is one nice shop. When is the "Open Shop" and Shop Tours event?

I am in Chattanooga every so often and would love to take a in person look at your shop.

:2thumbs:

IntrstlarOvrdrv- Great idea on the crane! Oh man how I wish I'd thought of that at my previous shop! I seem to think "gee, wish I'd thought of that" a *lot* when I see how you're doing things :D

You're sure not missing much are you ;) Nice to see somebody really thinking this stuff through :xyxthumbs

Heh heh, every time I see my shop's textured ceiling I think about all the dust up there and how you did it right :o

Just watch out for asbestos popcorn ceiling....its very common with them. If you dont have it tested its considered "remodeling", no hazardous material removal needed. Just a tip

amazing... just simply amazing work man

who designed that whole thing??

thanks

My dad was the 'architect.' He even designed the raised truss for the loft and had it approved and built by the truss company. Dad may have been the one that put it to paper, but Mom was the driving force to make it 'nice looking.'

Thanks for the compliments!

Thanks, since you asked..

We got part of the floor coated, looks pretty good so far. We're still cleaning the rest of the floor though, so hopefully this weekend it will get done. The work involved with coating the floor is about 90% cleaning the floor off.

Not yet, no. It should not be that bad though, as its a fairly rough finish. We havent finished yet, thats only about 1/6 of the floor :lol

OK, just wondered. The areas where I do a lot of work are getting their friction media (i.e., sand) worn off a bit but there's no way I'm gonna go through the abrasive-mess nightmare of having it redone.

Heh heh, I sure sympathize with your doing *that* job! Just watching the guys do my floor was hard enough :D

Hah, it wasnt bad really, just lots of prep work. Took a full day of just prepping the concrete. Got it finished today, and I'll try and take some pics when I can. We didn't use anything for traction, they left the floor rough when we had it done so that we could put this down and have traction.

I say it wasn't bad..but I now compare everything to sheetrock work, and it makes it seem that much better. :grinno:
