Jeez, guys, GET OVER IT.

If you like the look you've seen in the attached pictures, USE IT!

If you don't like the look, USE SOMETHING ELSE!

:werd: Even I said I wasn't that hot for the look on black and had to top it.

As young as I am...I really can't believe some of these members' behavior. This is an internet forum, and most of you are adults. Please find somthing better to do then argue over plastic bottles filled with liquids.

Manufactures HAVE to make claims. Would you buy a can of wax that simply says âہ“WAXâ€Â on it?

Heh heh, yeah, actually *I* would; I figure 99% of what's on the package is just "serving suggestion"/ad copy BS anyhow. But you sure wouldn't stay in business by catering only to guys like me :D

Glad you're not letting all the flak drive you away from Autopia.

Pigeonbus- Some of this sorta makes you wonder, huh ;)

Jeez! I met Chris last summer and found him to be honest and straight up. There was no "BS" and he wasn't selling snake oil.

Seems everyone should wait till the product is out and judge for themselves (if they care).

From what I know I don't think personal attacks are in order.

Lets recap, shall we?

You know, Anthony was doing a pretty good job of presenting ShoKar and fielding questions about the products, without any criticism from anyone.

Then eshine makes the comment :

eShine said:
As soon as ShoKar is on shelves we will be available to answer all questions in the "Ask the Manufacture" section.

But he doesnt stop there. He then, goes on to compare Shokar to Zaino and Klasse, inferring that ShoKar is mix of the best of both.

eShine said:
ShoKar is Poly-Acrylic where Klasse is only an Acrylic formula and Zaino is a Polymer formula. This does not mean ShoKar is better or worse but it is DIFFERENT. We added the Polymers to the Acrylic formula we originally had to help in application/removal temperaments. It is very hard to compete with current products such as Zaino and Klasse so we opted to make a formula that holds key characteristics of each Zaino and Klasse. Our goal was to create a product which would appeal to both Klasse and Zaino users. Picture a Klasse/Zaino group hug! LOL! Keep your eyes peeled!

dternst questions eshines formula descriptions and implies that it sounds more like a comparison to the formulas of Race Glaze and Wizards, rather than Zaino or Klasse. Which is a perfectly logical observation.

dternst said:
Is this post a play on words? Your post is very confusing. Acrylic is a polymer. So are you saying you're product is a polymer-polymer? But there is no such thing as a polymer-polymer.

I've heard the term poly-acrylic before on a couple other products...

Wizard's Shine Master Polish & Sealant

Race Glaze Polish and Sealant

How does your product compare to Wizards and Race Glaze?

Thanks in advance.

eshine responds with a vague explanation of chemistry and again implies that ShoKar in comparible to Klasse.

eShine said:
The terminology of Acrylics and Polymers can vary. Poly-Acrylic is best translated to an Acrylic Blend, using more than a single polymer type. As far as comparing to other products, I will leave those opinions for the users to decide.

eShine said:
The First Step ShoKar MultiPrep is a comparable product to Klasse AIO. There were limitations in its effectiveness due to VOC regulations. The limit was 15% VOC's for Car Polishes, we are at 14%.

RIC challenges eshines comparison and explanation.

RIC said:
Eshine comes on here and states, "ShoKar is Poly-Acrylic where Klasse is only an Acrylic formula and Zaino is a Polymer formula."

You have no idea what is in Zaino or Klasse for sure yet you first start comparing Shokar to Zaino and Klasse. How do you know that Zaino or Klasse does not use more than one type of polymer or acrylic?

eshine offers the MDS sheets as evidence and suddenly decides that now would be a good time to follow the site rules concerning vendors discussing their products.

eShine said:
By MSDS Sheets required by these manufactures when importing chemicals into Canada.

If there are any more questions regarding ShoKar prior to its release please direct them to [email protected], once it's released in the spring we will participate in the "Ask the manufacture" forum. Have a nice night.

After many member argumental exchanges on the subject, eshine returns to blast Autopian members and internet forums in general, for asking vendors these questions. He asserts that hes aware of the vendor bashing and accuses them of being threatened by their products.

Even though eshine admits that he is aware of the repurcussions, he interjects into the discussion anyway, then becomes defensive and accusatory of the very people he trying to appeal to. A bad decision and terrible sales approach, at best.

Once the "disagreeing" parties have rescended, we have other members attempt to flame the argument by admonishing the participants, accusing them of immaturity simply because they disagree on a "discussion forum" that is intended for just such debate.

Quite ironic......

This thread started with some honest trials and good product comparisons. It has turned into a bunch off hot air. The product is not even out yet.

6 pages??

This thread is 6 pages of a whole lot of nothing. I appreciate all those who see that I am only giving everyone a heads up on a product, which was at one time a "maybe", to now being a "go".

Scott and I are not selling SK, we do not profit in anyway (unless you feel getting flak from others payment:D ) from it. I, along with Scott, presented only our opinions, not based on "feelings" but rather based on hands-on experience.

As far as looks, it gives an appearance much like Zaino, less plastiky perhaps.

Easier to apply and remove than SG

We are not sure how well the "Prep" cleans paint, or if it is better in that area than AIO as we have both used them only on clean well maintained cars.

I don't believe anyone here is being deceptive on purpose. I don't believe Chris from eShine woke up one morning and said....."I am going to get a car product and knowingly deceive people about what it is!"

I also appreciate others who are skeptics and not so easily sold. They ask questions which make us all re-think things. I do believe though that this can be done in a more constructive manner than what has unfolded here.

In the end I don't really care what you all use on your cars. I though will continue to post about products I am testing and if I like them and they look to be promising I will let others know also.

Thank you,

Anthony

I'll bet if a vendor of a certain product was on here commenting on his product, certain members opposed to vendor participation would be bowing down in reverence.

Let me guess, it is Pledge!!!!!

Did I mention the Lemon Plegde, is Da Shizzle, ma Nizzle?:D

In my opinion the thread would have been better off leaving Klasse and Zaino out of comparisons. You know, common sense tells you the minute two of the most popular products are mentioned in comparison the can of worms is open. Its like pouring blood in the sea and not expecting sharks. Use any adjectives you want to describe the product but leave the K AND Z out of it and the thread would have gone much smoother.

I don't care what brand of product is discussed. I put all products including Zaino under the same scrutiny ever since I bought Optimum Spray wax and found it to be a complete waste of money.

If you read my posts in a Z2pro thread not long ago about the possibly new "Z8" you will see that this is true.

If a vendor wants to post here about their products, they should be willing to field questions from users/potential users. A manufacturer not willing to do this should stick with posting in the "Ask the Manufacturer" where people expect the manufacturer to hype their product.

Vendors could take a lesson from Forrest of Mothers who never attacks any potential customers.

I believe this to be in error as I have not read where the vendor in question has "attacked" any potential customers, as far as this thread goes.

RIC, I am curious to know where you purchased your Optimum Car Wax and was it in gallon form and lastly can you describe the gallon bottle if so?

Thanks,

Anthony

I bought OCW from the OCW Site. While I won't say it was a complete waste of money, it by far, is NOT my favorite product. I was not impressed by the resulting slickness of the finish

I am not the only one that noticed eshines attitude. Read NozeBleedSpeed's post

The Eshines posts that I take as an attack,[maybe I should have used the words accusatory and defensive, certainly not helpful or potential customer friendly]:

"It is no secret there are individuals on Autopia which are 100% against Vendors being here. These same individuals attack vendors ever opportunity they get and seem to enjoy doing so. It matters not what the vendor writes, it will be dissected, twisted around, quoted, and then questioned on terminology, grammar, and spelling; much like a trial. These threads get wayyyy of topic and turn and focus on hanging the Vendor on a Cross, this is exactly what these anti-Vendors members want. "

"Then there are people who feel new products are a threat to their current favorite product(s)."

He obviously feels that our legitimate questions are attacks so he turns it around and attacks us as anti-vendors and/or accuses us of feeling threatened by new products.

I just want to get as much information from the vendors BEFORE purchasing their products. I don't think that is too much to ask for. And if a vendor makes a mistake with something they previously stated then should have the integrity to say "I misspoke about...", "I made a mistake..." or whatever instead of dodging the question, becoming defensive and accusing the posters of something else. Why would I want to try a product where the vendor dances around every question and calls me an anti-vendor?

Optimum was purchased by the gallon at http://www.car-detailing-training.com/
