Optimum Car Polish and ShoKar Twins

Anthony- This might be an unfair question, but here goes anyhow...

I've heard KSG described as a "semi-permanent coating". And I've found this to be true; it can last over a year if layered properly. I believe it has to do with the KSG being an acrylic. Would the Shokar be in the same category or is it more like a "regular sealant"?

Again, I realize that this is an odd question for which there might not be any real answer, at least at this time...

Sheesh....Hey Anthony, thanks for the heads up referenced in this thread. I truely look forward to trying out the items.

Especially the polish and FII combo you reference.

I think I can answer, I have the sheet about Shokar right in front of me.

This is the description of the sealant:

The second step to the Shokar system is Shokar Sealant. It is a poly-acrylic based sealant with further UV protection. Shokar Sealant can be layered for an even deeper finish.

My understanding is Shokar was created to beat Klasse in all areas. In appearance and ease of use, it suceeds. I haven't had it on any vehicle long enough to know how durable it is. It is doing very well so far.

Yeah basicaly what Scott wrote. Chris from Eshine explained SK as an even "truer" acrylic than the Klasse. Not sure what that means but I have heard that Klasse AIO does not have acrylic properties to it but the SK "Prep" does have an acrylic in it.

Now that is funny:woot:

Sorry to be so silent during these conversations! :D As soon as ShoKar is on shelves we will be available to answer all questions in the "Ask the Manufacture" section. We are working full steam trying to get ShoKar out for spring. Just a quick blurb on ShoKar and its differences.

ShoKar is Poly-Acrylic where Klasse is only an Acrylic formula and Zaino is a Polymer formula. This does not mean ShoKar is better or worse but it is DIFFERENT. We added the Polymers to the Acrylic formula we originally had to help in application/removal temperaments. It is very hard to compete with current products such as Zaino and Klasse so we opted to make a formula that holds key characteristics of each Zaino and Klasse. Our goal was to create a product which would appeal to both Klasse and Zaino users. Picture a Klasse/Zaino group hug! LOL! Keep your eyes peeled!

Is this post a play on words? Your post is very confusing. Acrylic is a polymer. So are you saying you're product is a polymer-polymer? But there is no such thing as a polymer-polymer.

I've heard the term poly-acrylic before on a couple other products...

Wizard's Shine Master Polish & Sealant

Race Glaze Polish and Sealant

How does your product compare to Wizards and Race Glaze?

Thanks in advance.

The terminology of Acrylics and Polymers can vary. Poly-Acrylic is best translated to an Acrylic Blend, using more than a single polymer type. As far as comparing to other products, I will leave those opinions for the users to decide.

Please don't get any wrong impression as I ask this question, just want some info:

If this ShoKar twin is composed of like AIO and SG twin, would the Acrylic cleaner component of ShoKar, act the same way as the AIO? Since you've mentioned it shares some of the good characteristics of Klasse and Zaino, would the Acrylic cleaner be compatible as base for Zaino (i.e. Z2-Pro)?

No intention whatsoever, just asking.

Shokar's sealant is very different than Race Glaze's Polish/Sealant. SK is a very watery liquid with no cleaning ability that I can discern while RG is a white cream with very light abrasives and chemical cleaners. Appearance is different as well. SK looks very similar to Z2 Pro, ie clear and wet while RG looks more like NXT, ie slightly darkens the paint, more of a glow than wet look.

As far as the base protective ingedients, I don't know how similar or dissimilar they are.

Eshine comes on here and states, "ShoKar is Poly-Acrylic where Klasse is only an Acrylic formula and Zaino is a Polymer formula."

Then Eshine states,"The terminology of Acrylics and Polymers can vary. Poly-Acrylic is best translated to an Acrylic Blend, using more than a single polymer type. As far as comparing to other products, I will leave those opinions for the users to decide."

You have no idea what is in Zaino or Klasse for sure yet you first start comparing Shokar to Zaino and Klasse. How do you know that Zaino or Klasse does not use more than one type of polymer or acrylic?

The First Step ShoKar MultiPrep is a comparable product to Klasse AIO. There were limitations in its effectiveness due to VOC regulations. The limit was 15% VOC's for Car Polishes, we are at 14%.

By MSDS Sheets required by these manufactures when importing chemicals into Canada.

If there are any more questions regarding ShoKar prior to its release please direct them to [email protected], once it's released in the spring we will participate in the "Ask the manufacture" forum. Have a nice night.

Nobody is 100% sure that Klasse is really an actual acrylic, or if they just market it as such. :nixweiss

The best bet is to just use the product and see if it looks good and is durable. Does it really matter as long as it works? :nixweiss

Ed-I don't know how capable a cleaner the Shokar cleaner is since I have only used it on finishes already in excellent condition. It does seem to add gloss and slickness, much like AIO.
