Griots Garage?

I consider Griot's the Eastwood of Auto-Detailing supplies. Eastwood sells many fine products at a exagerated mark-up, but they are all located in one place. Thats why I shop smart

Well I have found out who actually makes some more of the stuff Griot's sells. It is a never ending quest. I just got a cable modem so it is very easy to find stuff on the net. Here is what I found out

about the floor jack and bottle jack that Griot's sells

floor jack

I don't have much else to do right now as it is just pouring outside. No garage either.

Awesome job! Now where can we buy that jack in the US or Canada and not pay more than list price like at Griot's?

Joe

CRUZMISL- Yeah, that low-slung floor jack would be just the thing for your C5. Gotta be careful, though, they release sorta abruptly (or at least mine does). Wherever you get it, get the rubber pad too. And remember to factor in the shipping costs, it's not a lightweight!

Next, I suggest you get some "heads" made for your jackstands that will fit into the holes in your frame. Makes it solid as a rock when up in the air. I was always putting my C5 up to work on the lower parts. The undersides of those cars are too nice not to detail.

bmwtinut, thank you! I have been trying to find that out for a long time. Those jacks look very, very well made, and I was about to buy one until my great wife got me one from this source, made in Denmark. It works, great, lowers steadily and I love it, though I really would like to see the Italian product up close.

I actually purchased the AC Hydraulics jack a year and half ago from asedeals. Great Jack and I got it for a great price. Instead of buying one from there I would contact "ultgar" Steve D'Gerolamo from Ultimate Garage. Much better customer service. My jack from asedeals was scratched up when it was recieved.

Take a look at the jack at ultimate garage. AC jacks

bmw, thanks again, funny you should mention the appearance of your AC jack upon arrival. Mine arrived with a minor appearance objection also though I don't recall exactly what it was-the jack stands from AC are superb, and unpainted!! The Spanish jack, from the pictures, looks as though it could be shown in a museum.

Just thought I'd mention, I had just come off reading this thread when we ran to the mall to price these beach chairs we'd seen at Brookstone. For those of you who dont have brookstones where you are, they're like Hamacher Schlemmer, Sharper Image etc. Well, we got the beach chairs and I picked up a wash nozzle, EXACTLY like has been discussed here. Its all metal, weighs about a pound, $20. Get this, made in Taiwan, so add that to the mix lol.

It seems really nice, can't wait to use it.

Here's the link!

I thought this one was pretty nice too, but decided on the fireman style one figuring it wouldnt tire my hand as much.

Thought this one was cool because you can pivot the head a full 180 degrees, thought it might be good for wheel wells or the undercarriage. In fact I was tempted to buy them both...

Sorry to hijack the thread, you may now return to your regularly scheduled bickering ;)

I think bretfraz must have a screw loose, no offense. You're like a broken record going on about that 76 dollar nozzle. Obviously that's ridiculous. But many of his products are fairly priced and it's all guarenteed for life.

You probably spend more on gas driving around to all your places looking for those "bang for the buck" products than if you had just picked up the phone and one-stop shopped at Griot's!

And who needs a hose nozzle anyway? Put your thumb over the end if you need some initial rinse pressure, and remove it for the final rinse so the water falls off in sheets.
