Zaino

Looking for opinions. Is the Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit worh the money? Has anyone tried any other products that performed as well?

IMO they perform very well and the durability is exceptional but as with everything it all depends on what you prefer on your car. What other products have you used?

It's basically all I use. I think it is worth every penny because all of the products go a very long way. I haven't found anything as durable as Zaino. I could go on for days on why I use and enjoy zaino but I am just one voice.

Reall the only things I have tried have been from local stores. I've used Meguiars Tech Wax and Gold Class. I've had good results from them but they don't seem to be very durable. I'm new to the site and saw a few posts about Zaino and thought I would get some opinions on it.

If you want the durability and looks, I think you will love zaino.

You know, one thing we never talk about here (at least not recently, not since the process > product era ended), is that products are like a tool. A skilled detailer can get good results with inferior tools, but that doesn't mean that an unskilled one can get good results with excellent tools. Zaino is an excellent tool, but it's not going to get you a swirl-free finish without some training, knowlege, and experience.

with zaino being so durable, how often do you reapply? I've applied twice the first month of ownership (2 coats each) and now in my 3rd month. Still looks good.

You're right. Products < Process.

I reapply Zaino on my personal vehicle about every 4 months. I find a Z8 wipedown after every other or every third wash to keep the Z plenty durable.

First, yes I believe zaino is by far the longest lasting and I like the look it leaves.

Now the reason I quoted you is because either I'm not skilled enough or its just not possible, but on some vehicles with hard paint I can't get out swirls with zaino. I did a lotus and swirls were still there. Chevy truck and swirls were still there. Ended up using OC anc OP then went to zaino. Like I said, I may not be skilled enough but I don't think zaino is all you need for a swirl free finish on some vehicles. I love the stuff but sometimes I use different swirl removers before zaino.

Agreed. ZPC is great for the med-light swirls but when it comes to the heavy marring and deeper scratches, I reach for the HTEC.

MobileJay,

Which Zaino products where you using? Despite being marketed as a polish, Z2Pro and Z5Pro have no polishing ability. Z5Pro will hide but not remove swirls. You have to move to ZPC for real polishing.

Mike

Jeff's Werkstatt and Zaino both have long lasting, easy to use products. You can also get excellent results (after proper polishing) purchasing only two products from either. Prime and Acrylic Jett if you go with Werkstatt and Z-AIO and Z5 (or Z2) Pro if you opt for Zaino.

You'd use Prime or ZAIO as your final polishing step, then Acrylic Jett or Z5 as your sealing step. Don't worry so much about layering, one application of either sealant will give you months of protection and both are easy enough to use you can freshen up your finish with another application every couple of months or so.

If you are just getting into detailing, I'd really recommend staying with an easy two step system. Less time consuming and very straight forward way to get into the hobby.

Um...being that Zaino doesn't have any heavy swirl remover products, and didn't even have any SMR's until a couple of years ago...what you say makes sense.

I was really saying that people who have never detailed a car ask "what's the best 'wax' ", and the answer frequently comes back "Zaino" and then they come here to ask where to get some of that stuff. It's kind of like thinking if you use the same golf clubs or deodorant that Tiger Woods uses, you'll win the Masters...(what deodorant was that guy using?)...it takes more than just a good product to get a good detail, and more than a good deodorant to win the Masters...however if you have a wax deodorant stick you may be able to have a good detail and a good round :p

I had used ZPC on the lotus I did. Heavily swirled and I will say it did improve, but did not de-swirl
