Worst Detail of 2009! - Extreme Paint Correction by Unique Car Care!

Amazing job bringing that one back. It looks at least as bad as that 335 I did a few months ago but I was dealing with soft BMW jet black and not rock hard Audi clear. No surprise it took so long to bring back.

Wow, I don't know what is more amazing: the fact that the paint on the car was that horrible, or the fact that you guys were able to get it to the point that you did, which is incredible looking.

Thanks again everyone!

I really appreciate the kind words!

As for the products used, it included 3M Extra Cut and M105 for all of the heavy compounding, SIP, PO203S and IP for the medium polishing and 106fa, 85rd & 85u for the final polishing.

A variety of pads were used including black lambs wool, cyan hydro-tech, tangerine hydro-tech, orange flat, white flat & black flat.

Any other questions, feel free to ask...

How did 3M Extra Cut perform on this paint? Did it induce a lot of swirls and hazes that the people at Meguiar's claim it would?

Where was 3M Extra Cut mainly used on, as opposed to M105? Thanks!

Hope RickRack doesn't mind my responding to the above...

IME the 3M Extra Cut works fine on hard clears. Yeah, it leaves compounding artifacts, but hey, it's a rocks-in-a-bottle compound. It's not all *that* bad in that regard and I've even done OK with it on not-so-hard clears. The artifacts are easy enough to clear up with the next-step pad/product, just gotta work the Extra Cut enough to break it down.

Last time I used the 3M EC, I followed it with 1Z Pasta Intensiv and that left things pretty nice, even with my not-so-wonderful rotary skills.
