Worst Detail of 2009! - Extreme Paint Correction by Unique Car Care!

the worst thing is that if the body shop sees the car now they are gonna really be proud and be like we painted that car and think they did a good job. SMH

btw in ur 2nd post you forgot to mention you wet sanded un your list of steps

The first step was to give the exterior a thorough wash, clay, clean all wheels & tires, strip paint free of previous waxes/glazes and clean the engine compartment.

Here is what it looked like after it has been fully prepped for polishing……

Ah, the good 'ol customer who uses steel wool and 100-grit sandpaper to dry their car :laugh:.

The paint looks dripping wet-- great job!

Can't believe people can abuse such nice cars like that. As usual, your detailing skills totally amaze me. Great work!

JCastro1085- Thanks again! Although it is on the expensive side, we try to do our best and make it worth every penny for the owner. After you break down the hours invested and factor in our expenses & overhead, we're not making as much money as some people might think.

RaskyR1- Thanks buddy!

How's everything going?

Deenice21- The funny thins that you're right! The body shop will take full credit for such a beautiful job they did! Thanks!

MichaelSpoots- Gotta love a good challenge! LOL. Thank you!

johnand-Nothing surprises me any more... Thanks for the kind words!

Oh believe I could only imagine. When you think about it after all the days (not hours) you put into this vehicle and the products just in trial/error used to figure out what works best you really wasted a lot of time/money just right there, I sure can appreicate good work when I see it. :goodjob

Its write-ups like these and Dave's, barrys,got_leather that really motivate me to get my car in top shape. Really exicted too because today am picking up a Makita 9227C in great shape for $80 talk about a deal! Of course I'll do some testing on scrap but hopefullt I'll get my black car looking like this Audi (even though its noooooo where near the bad shape this audi was in)

You're absolutely right, a lot of hours go into just prepping the vehicle for polishing. Including wash, clay, clean all wheels, tires & wheel wells, door jambs, engine compartment, degrease the paint and mask off all trim, etc.. It takes me 4 hrs minimum just to prep a car.

Congrats on the Makita, sounds like a smokin' deal! You'll be fine with the rotary, just take it slow at first. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a PM with any questions or give me a call.

Thanks again!

You know I was scrolling thru the pictures and thought "oh, he started wetsanding it" then scrolled a little more and it was still before pics...holy crap...parts of that car were so dull I thought you had been sanding them already! Great recovery!

This was my exact thoughts!!! Then my very next reaction was mother of god!! Awesome turn around, I wish I could have seen a picture of the owner when he saw it.

This is one of my favorite details of all time. Talk about a messed up car! You guys really outdid yourself on this one! Simply amazing! Two of the best at what we do!!

:nana::nana::nana::nana:Go Yankees!!!!!:nana::nana::nana::nana::nana:

Amazing transition - did the owner decide to keep it after that?!? You made it look brand new. The before shots remind me of the guy who had a "friend" use Brillo on the car.

<OT>

I really need to get some BWD but I have so much JetSeal left over. Maybe I will switch and leave the JS for my wife's car or resell here if I like the Blackfire more.

</OT>

My wife, who knows nothing about the detailing process other than the fact that I do it as a paying hobby looked at the before pics and asked "was that car polished with a brillo pad?"

I called her back in to look at the after shots and she said "are you sure that's the same car? It looks brand new..."

Another Lazarus project completed by Rick and Ryan.... :2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:
