Wolf Gang Review

I got the wolf gang free kit and finally used it. Here is my review:

Soap --- I like it better than my Sonax car was soap.. Lots of suds and feels very slick on the surface..

Pre-Cleaner -- Was very annoyed how it went one. Was a pain to apply because it seemed to be sticking to the surface for a lack of a better description? What I mean it spread worth poop. Now removal was easy and the shine after this step was better than anything I have used on the Gold Explorer. I have used Meguairs, Mothers, Liquid Glass, and NXT and this is much better in shine.

Sealant -- Went on easy, was almost to liquid like. Came off easier than my zaino and had the feeling of slickness I want.

Detail Spray – I notice more of an improvement using Zaino’s detailing spray. This one did not really seem to add to the shine like I hoped. Not bad, but not the best.

My opinion on this product:

I FOUND A NEW CAR WASH SOAP FOR SURE!!!

Sealant was good I will keep using it on the Gold Explorer

Detailing Spray I may never buy again

Pre-Cleaner, I am still unsure about…

How did you apply the products, especially the pre-cleaner? Also, I thought the kit came only with the Pre-Cleaner, Sealant and Detail Spray. Did you order the Shampoo or did it come with the kit? I am not home so I can't check out my kit for myself.

Greg--it comes with a little 1 or 2 oz bottle of wash.

Mr. Clean--good review. I thought the exact same thing about the pre-cleaner. I was very happy about the results but wasn't so hot on the application (using the mf applicator). I posted some thoughts in the New Product thread on Wolfgang but I will reserve *my* product review until I use the Pre-Cleaner with the PC. Since the resulting gloss and slickness was so good, I think the whole process will be much more fulfilling when I don't have dead-arm:D

I did a review on this stuff also. Most of the findings are similar. After a week and another wash, the durability seems to be holding its ground. Still not a deep and wet as I like (its no Pinnacle Soveran Paste), but very , very close to Zaino and surpased Klasse Sealant based on ease of use.

1. Precleaner --- I found it to be very easy on and off. Did you shake the bottle well ??? Reminds me of Pinnacle Paintwork Cleanser, and does the same job. (In all fairness my car was just polished with Einszett so finish had nothing to snag upon)

2. Sealant -- easily the easiest sealant to use. No mixing, no curing time, and no loss of reflectivity against its peers. (Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire, and NXT)

3. Wash --- I liked it also, though found it no better than Griiots car wash. Didnt seem to have beeswax in it (thats good) , as beading was unchanged and did not streak upon removal.

4. QD --- Can you say cologne ??? It smells and feels like cologne. It has to be a high alcohol / water base. I dont see any appreciable difference and doubt it has any gloss accents or UV inhibitors. Truly a quick clean , wipe up only. (I wonder if Crystal Mist would add the depth missing ?? )

So far I am relatively pleased with the results. I still miss the ultimate wet-look that Sealants just dont seem to apply. Easily moves into the top of the Sealant chain however, based on ease of use alone. Durability is still unknown !

My findings are the same as killrwheels so far. I had no problem with the prewax cleaner. I will be trying it on two vehicles in the next week a 2004 Dark Blue Jetta and a 1999 Red Jetta. I think this product is great so far , in the end durability will the defining factor for me.

That may be the difference. The truck I used it on had only gotten a Sonax wash and nothing else for at least four months prior. Detailbarn, did you use the pre-cleaner after polishing or with the pc? I used in a worse-case scenario with non-clayed paint and a new mf applicator.

I got the Wolfgang kit late yesterday and used it today on two different cars, a black Mercedes E420 and a dark blue BMW 328.

I didn't use the soap yet since I used QEW on both cars. I tried the QD on my trunk lid, seems to be a decent product but no real change in slickness but to be fair, my paint is pretty slick as it is.

Pre-Cleaner-no problems using it. On the E420, I used the MF pad to give the cleaner a little more "oomph" and it worked fine. It was in the low 60s with hazy sunshine and the cleaner spread just fine. I worked in into the paint paint until it seemed mostly clear and then wiped it off with a MF towel. Very user friendly and a good shine, similar to S100 SEC or Vanilla Moose with similar slickness.

Sealant-I shook the bottle up real good like it said and poured a little bit on the foam pad and it just wiped on. The directions said the longer you let it dry, the easier it is to remove, so I applied it to the entire car, then went back over with a MF towel and the excess wiped off with ease. It is just as easy to use as 1Z Glanz Wax or Poorboy's EX. The appearance is very nice. Not quite as liquid looking as a true carnauba, but still had very good depth, reflections and wet look and the finish is very slick....I think it rivals UPP in this regard and no hour wait before removing.

The blue BMW had some minor spider swirling so I used Meguiars SFP #82 first. After already polishing the Pre-Cleaner went on even more easily and again wiped off with no effort. The Sealant glided on and off and the paint seemed to have more of a 'shimmery' look on this car than the E420. Maybe the extra polishing step had something to do with it, I don't know. What I do know is the look was similar to a carnauba, very liquid looking. This customer wanted a carnauba topper, so I used Meguiars #16 Pro Paste Wax which added even more wetness to the paint. I don't know if it will affect the durability of the sealant though and this customer is a bit too far to have to come back the next day to apply the paste wax. In any event, the car looked extremely good with that combination.

All in all, I am really please with the Wolfgang products so far. Very easy to use and so far, excellent results. I think the sealant has more of a "Poorboy's" look than a "Klasse" or "1Z" look, in that it is more liquid looking than super reflective.

Pics will be a few days, I still have about 15 shots left on this roll.

:shocked .....Scott....Im suprised you are not digital yet

35mm print film and a good (Nikon in my case) camera still blows away digital. One of the reasons my pictures turn out so good is because I use print film (Kodak's High Definition Film).

I just tossed the second coat of the sealant on. It went on very easy, IMO and helped the look of it. Now my wife and this is the real test said it was dull in some areas (After the fist coat).. I am thinking it could have been me or the fact I used to use liquid glass I am not sure on this one.

I really am impressed with the soapt.. I previously used Kitt, Meguairs, Sonax, Zip, and Z7. Sonax was my favorite until I tired this. If they price it right I will order more of it.

I do agree the detail mist is more of a quick clean instead of a gloss enhancing spray. I would not order that again. I will keep using their products till the trail stuff is gone. When it is gone I will order more of their soap, and they have a good chance I will keep using this on my Gold Explorer if the durability is there.

I do have to say it is great the company did this. If they hook each one of us on one part of their program they are set. I wish poor boys did this and Black Fire…

I am still not going to try it on my red car yet.. I have a ton of Z2 and Z5 left and I know that works even though it lacks the wet look I want.

I am an addict.. I have a 2.5 car garage so with the SUV in it I continue to tinker with Wolfgang and the SUV. This time I use the sealant on the chrome and rims. I am shocked at how shiny they are. The chrome and rims never looked this good. I even went over the rear panels again with the sealant. I am addicted. I only hope the durability is there. I also noticed it works great on the plastic tail lights and head lamps. They are so wet looking and shiny. Again I only used the sealant on them…

To the people that have used it, I noticed it was a very thin, liquidy product. Does it spread well? The protectant, that is. Or does it seem like it is thin because it's a bit solventy (in which case it probably wouldn't spread that well)? About how much does it take to cover a vehicle? About as much as Blackfire or Zaino or SG, or more than that?

You all are making me very curious to try it this weekend. But my car still looks awesome from the Blackfire/#16 I applied a few months ago...

Applies like Zaino IMO... It spreads nice even though it is very liquidy.. Shake it very well and it solids up some. If i had blackfire would I buy this and use it, not until I ran out of blackfire. You have to have a test car.. I used my wives SUV... My red car is still on zaino..

The sealant spreads very easily and it takes very little to cover a whole car. I did two cars today and hardly used any product.

Interesting. I wonder how similar this is in comparison to UPP... my latest bottle of UPP is pretty thin and watery.

~ Just Dumb Speculation ~

Once you shake up the Wolfgang Sealant, it is slightly thicker than the version of UPP that I have.

Hmm... interesting. My bottle of UPP is actually pretty thick almost like a toothpaste. Can't wait to test out my Wolfgang kit! Great review!

It is still very easy to spread, even after shaking. Viscosity is close to Milk IMHO. The foam pad does become quite tacky after half the car, so I believe it contains a drying chemical, ala ZFX. (Suppose thats why there are two sides to each foam pad )

Our friends are down from Virginia and were shocked at how great the car looked with Wolfgang on it. They want me to do their car now before they head back to the cold, snowy north. Even my wife today could not stop talking how slick it was. She leaned on it and slid off balance. I worked on it last night till midnight. I redid tons of things, took my time and am extremely happy with it. As I said before it worked wonders on chrome and the rims which are polished aluminum.

So to reiterate:

1. Wash is GREAT

2. Sealant is GREAT

3. Pre-Wax is hard to apply, but awesome shine

Verdict--------- I would BUY IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
