I realize that this is way off topic, that it is not typical of my usual smart-a## reply, and that it will embarass ZoomZoom Mazda5, but here goes...
I just buried an uncle who had participated in six WWII invasions (served in both theaters). My friend's dad has four bullet holes in him from Iwo Jima. My ex-Ranger neighbor had his hip shattered in Somalia. Some of my Marine buddies know a thing or two about courage. In short, I know some true American heroes.
I put our good friend Angelo in that same category. He's too modest to tell the blood and guts versions of the stories, but guys, he is an honest-to-God, bad-a**, American Special Forces operator with the DD-214 and the wounds to prove it. And he's one of the nicest people I know.
You know it's gotta be special when a Jarhead writes this stuff about a US Air Force hero.

A better one might be how many people are so entrenched in their partisan politics that they would vote for Daffy Duck if their party nominated him.
Hmmmmm - What if it's Daffy Duck's wife that was nominated? Gonna be interesting to watch how this plays out.

I got a call last week for a political poll and I lied to them I hate the news media.
I have to wonder how many tell them the truth.

It's still a democratic nation (that's good) and we all get the chance to vote for any candidate who can raise at least 200 million dollars for his or her campaign (seriously) and stand before cameras and promise the moon.
I was a Republican for 30 yrs. because of moral reasons, aka pro-life and anti welfare freebies. Nowadays I realize the Republicans are just as immoral, sending young men and women to die or be maimed in wars not about freedom. For years they've poo-pooed inner city problems and lately the middle class has royally gotten the shaft. That's not why I moved to Canada, but right now I have to admit it does feel a little better being up here away from all the lies on both sides. I follow it though. If I were to vote, it'd be for Barack for hope of something different.
