Who ya gonna vote for?

Who do you plan to vote for?

  • McCain/Palin

    Votes: 43 74.1%
  • Obama/Biden

    Votes: 15 25.9%

  • Total voters
    58
  • Poll closed .
If possible, I'd like to make this a totally anonymous poll.

I really don't want to start a political debate
Who you choose to vote for is a personal decision.
That's why the poll is anonymous.
I'm not really interested in why you choose a candidate or party, just "Who are you going to vote for?"

Until Palin joined the group I didn't feel like any of them gave a hoot about my 2nd Amendment rights. Now I have one out of four, I find it so comforting.

I have no reason NOT to believe it.
Obama has said repeatedly that he will raise taxes on big business.
Perhaps you are one of those who think that when they pay more it will not be passed on to you.

No just the opposite I think he will raise our taxes as well as big business. Allowing us to get hit twice.

What we need to do is stop caring and worrying about the rest of the world and begin worrying and taking care of us. Stop importing more than we export and so many other things.

Then you shouldn't have asked :lmfao
I didn't ask. :)
Read my posts, including the one that starts the poll.

There is not an "other" option so if you don't plan to vote for these candidates, you're going to have to either not vote or start your own poll. :D
I really don't want to start a political debate, but there is a reason for my doing this. I'll post that reason after a few days of voting. (I hope :))
It seems like this should have been fairly clear, but if it wasn't clear enough, (Obviously wasn't for some), the following one should have been sufficient to make it fairly clear to anyone.

What part of these ask for any political debate or even any comments?
If you voted, thank you.
If you feel you need to add comments or have a political debate, so be it.
Just don't suggest it was at my request. :)

I guess i just wanted to know why you started the thread if you didn't want to hear the reasons.
I thought I at least hinted that I would explain my reasons in the starter post.:)

I have no interest in anyone's reasons simply because it is very unlikely that I am going to influence your choice anymore than you are likely to influence mine. Nor do I want to. :)

Indeed. I am sure about 80% of the people have decided to vote for one side or the other no matter who was running. It is the remainder that actually decides by going out to vote and this depends on how much they are motivated (either against one or by the other).

He's simply taking a poll.

It will then be submitted to CNN and they will post the results as a national survey and how so and so is leading the polls currently.

You weren't that far off.
My real reason for the poll.
The media reports always and I do mean always, report that Obama and McCain are either about even or Obama has a slight lead in every poll report they make.

I'm involved with a boating forum and a sports forum and the polls are about 2 to 1 in favor of McCain.
That totally contradicts the media reports.
I was curious if it just happened to be those forums/people, but the results here at DC are the same.
Maybe we don't read enough of the media reports to know how we are supposed to be voting. :D
If the polls were local, I could see them being different in different parts of the country, but when all parts of the country are represented and the results are totally different than those reported by the media, I have to wonder why.
I do feel that certain networks and newspapers are biased in their reporting, but surely not all of them.

B. H. Obama is the media's "golden boy" for one thing. Also, I believe I read or heard on the radio that the polls generally show a dead heat until it gets closer to the election. FWIW, I heard this morning on the news that J. McCain had a 50% to 46% "lead" in the latest Gallup poll.

Don't know yet, just waiting on who has the right plan for the country, it seems like both don't know what to say and haven't come up with a plan that will work. All they say is the same old stuff and give a detail account on what they have in plan for this country. :crazy2:

Makes you wonder where they get their data doesn't it

I heard the same numbers on this morning's news, and they sound reasonable. It sounds like both candidates got a "bounce" following their respective conventions. CharlesW, there isn't any conspiracy. For whatever reason [I don't know why] I think the numbers you are getting are skewed terribly and I feel certain that when the votes are tallied in November McCain nor Obama will win by any such margin.

They are all (at least) slightly (some more so)biased. They are after all run by human beings.

I really can't agree about the "golden boy" thing. If anything Palin might be the "golden girl". As far as polls vs election results they haven't seem to differ too much over the last two elections. Those couldn't have been any closer.

I didn't intend to insinuate that, but there sure seems to be a lot of contradiction.

Could be, but on three different message boards?

I do think you are right about that.

Anyway, it has been interesting to note that the media sees something that doesn't seem to be apparent to the general public.

Just contradiction between the boards you referenced and some national polling orgs which in all likelyhood hit a greater demographic than all of the aforementioned message boards combined.

We all see what we want to see, and believe what we want to believe. :D

Here's my stance on politics...

I'm getting ****ed no matter who gets in office, so I really don't care. Although I must say Palin wouldn't be bad to be screwed over by.

:eek::passout:
