I just see this as a big mess. We are just waiting to see if I get cut or forced from my wifes policy to "buy in" because I am self employed with an EIN. If that happens ill go back to the underground and just be John Morgan.
Still have shop and taxes just drop the EIN.

Sadly, I believe you are not alone. Unfortunately we are not being heard. Admittedly, I'm likely to speak my mind and am not all that smart. :(

Nobody can be smart about this. It's too freakin complicated. Too many variables.

But mebbe it's called the aca cuz it'll be affordable for the 16,000 more irs agents needed to administer it...............

irs = same agency that couldn't make a go of a bar and brothel......

Another thing that urks me is that there are businesses that are getting delayed implementation. If it aint good enough for big business - it ain't good enough for citizens

No you said something like it will be a cold day in hell before yadda yadda yadda. I replied, and this is true.. THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT FORCING YOU TO GET HEALTH CARE. If you don't get it and are not exempt you pay a fine for not having it. It is not even a go to a window and pay a fine fine, it goes into your taxes year end so if you get a refund you get 95 bucks or 1% of your gross less this year and 695 or 2.5% gross next year. If that is cheaper then getting health care for yourself good on you. No one says you have to have it.

My parallel was to car insurance. In Ohio you have to have it, it is mandatory. Same with seat belts you have to wear them, and in some states helmets. Is the the government in league with the auto insurance, seat belt makers and helmet makers?? Or is it good law protecting the people.

Speed limits are laws, do I break em? sometimes. Have i got caught? sure have and have paid the fine for breaking the law. But the Government is not forcing me to go 60. It's the law, I choose to break it I risk the fine.
 
Like most laws, badly thought out, bad implementation, and no thought to what negative effects it will have. OOOPS, "we didn't know"
 
The primary purpose of auto insurance is to protect the "other" driver from other careless, reckless drivers, not you.

When your car is paid for, you are not required to protect it, but you're always required to protect the other guy from loss.

When you're a bit older, retired and on a fixed income until Medicare and the premium is $2,000 plus per month, you'll be ranting about it.

Well, I just got notified that as of Jan 1, my plan is no longer available thanks to ahca.....

So much for "If you like you plan you can keep it...."

This country got what it deserved. At least I'm not culpable.

Lincoln said "you can fool some of the people all of the time", but when those people are a majority you're screwed.
