I saw this stuff in the store last night. It looks like a new offering...any comments/experiences with this stuff? Thanks.

If I am right, DetailKing uses it. He says he couldn't find it anymore but he really thought it was the best.

Ask him for a little more info, he may even ask you to pick him up a bottle or two.

DK has some pics of his BMW in the pic section showing the TW tire wax look. Check them out. Kinda nice and I think there was another thread about this stuff.

GMN, this is taken directly from their website:

"Turtle Wax® Tire WaxTM provides a deep, black, wet-look for tires, black rubber bumpers and vinyl trim. It feels dry to the touch and will not spin off tires. You will get a long lasting shine and give your tires that brand new look."

"Turtle Wax® Formula 2001® Tire Gel produces a deep wet look shine that outlasts traditional spray and foam products. It's high viscosity fluids resins and wax enhance durability while virtually eliminating spin-off on tires. Formula 2001® Tire Gel contains new Trilicone™ technology consisting of three high-tech silicones that will form a bond with the surface, provide a deep shine, and provide longer lasting shine than any other silicone."

Who knows what the real difference is though. :)

SADLY enough, it is no longer made. I am down to my last bottle before resorting back to 2 coats of Z16 as I did in the past.

Our local NAPA has plenty of bottles of the TW Formula 2001 TG along with the Tire Wax. I have not bought any since I've got a nearly full bottle of Zaino Perfect Tire Gloss. I think it was around $5 to 6 bucks, may check it out sometime in the furure.

DK don't give up.

I see a lot of Tire gel even in local supermarkets. And lots of Tire Wax in Kmart (that will change as they close down the nonprofit stores)

My local supermarket even has 8oz. bottle of 303 protectant available.

Gets chills from hearing the word "Trilicone"... ohh the horror and nightmare of Trilicone..

I once bought the TW 2001 "armor all" substitute which had Trilicone, applied it the day i got on my dash, and suiddenly all these little white crystal-like balls appeared on my dash.. I ran my finger over them to pick some up, and pinched them, and a tiny bit of while liquid appeared.. I used 3 different towels to see if it was maybe the towel that was messed up, but it was the stuff.. it took me 2 1/2 hours getting all the crap off my dash.. with 3/4 a bottle left, it just threw it away.. nasty crap.. never gonna buy 2001 formula again

This stuff is very cheap at Target. I have had success with applying (2) coats. The first coat leaves the tire blotchy, but it evens out nicely after a second coat. Low gloss and natural looking, definitly worth trying out.

I picked Tire Wax up from Target for something under $3, and it gives a great low-gloss look that I like, especially on a black car. It doesn't last as long as Meguiar's Endurance, but it doesn't sling and there's a lot to love about the shine. It doesn't make tires brown, either. I prefer Endurance simply because it lasts longer, but I use Tire Wax because it is very cheap, it is very easy to apply, it's not as messy as Endurance, and it keeps the tires black longer than most products (but not Endurance). For the price, it's unbeatable.

Is this the TW gel

Hey C240, that's the one loaded with silicone. The one I and most of us like is Turtle Wax Tire Wax.

BTW, I've seen it at Target and Pep Boy's.
