Time To Try a Diff Tire Dressing

I use the Ultima Tire and Trim. It lasts and lasts. The first time you use it you need to strip off the old dressing with APC or cutrus wash. The give a good bonding surface. I believe its water based and does not attract dust. One coat matte, 2 plus coats shiney(er). I like the new tire matte look these days.

I also use Aqua Bead on my wheel wells at 50/50. Tried it full strength on the wife's truck and it looked good all week.

Good luck

I've used Megs Hyperdressing and have had major problems with slinging. I use 2:1 since I like a high shine. I've tried letting it sit overnight, I've tried wiping the excess and it still slings. Any suggestions?

after i apply, let it sit and spread the tire dressings with an applicator... i follow up with the leaf blower to blow out any leftover dressing out of the tread and it also helps aid the drying process...

CG Xtreme Shine..26 a gallon, which is not too too bad...great look for me, oil based, and i have never witnessed any browning, my tires get it every week..and no sling..i need not try anything else

I've been meaning to try this stuff

Instead of buying new applicators, try buying cheap yellow Spongebob type sponges and cut them to shape. I bought a couple of those for 79 cents each at Building 19.

I guess Im in the minority but Z16 doesn't do a whole lot for me, I've ditched all my water based dressings and gone back to products like NXT Extreme Shine in a can.

That stuff is the best trim dressing out there, too. Will sling on some ribbed tires though.

I bought it awhile ago when it was much cheaper. I think it's almost doubled in price.

Z16....For me, it's not even close. Once I saw it in person on John's (Eliot Ness) Roadster, I was hooked.

I have a brand new sample bottle of Hyper Dressing I ordered from ADS and I can't even bring myself to try it because of Z16. IMO, it doesn't get any better than two coats of Z16 on a perfectly prepped tire.

I'm a fan of No Touch natural look... I think they also have a glossier one. Leaves a nice new tire look, doesn't sling, and I find the durability to be pretty OK. Cheap & OTC = bonus.

I really like Optimum Tire Shine, leaves them nice and black, but not greasy. The only issue is since it's a spray I use way too much of it... Trying Z-16 next...

I used this from Soft 99.

It makes the tires in the matt black finish and keep them that way for a month or so. It does not splash over the side of the car (which is a big plus).

DG 271 for me:

Lasts for months and has a nice matte finish. As an added bonus doesn't streak or run when used on exterior plastics.

I like BW better on ext. plastic, but I'll try it out on tires since I have a full bottle.

Griot's: Rubber Prep. The easiest and most complete rubber cleaning product I have used in 40 years. If you try nothing else new this coming year, give this a try. Rubber prep is essential for any tire dressing to work well and this product is easier to use then applying the dressing. Messy bucket washing your tires will become a thing of the past. :xyxthumbs

Follow this with Zaino Z16 (water-based) or Griot's Long Lasting Tire Dressing (low VOC).

Both products allow a matte-to-ultra gloss appearance depending on number of application cycles.
