It doesnt make sense to be making assumptions against Mike Phillips or whatever his name is when he clearly didnt want it on here. Even when he posted about it on the Meguairs Forums he didnt even list it as the VERY TOP subject, instead he posted it near the end and never spouted off about Zaino's products.

Diffrent Strokes for Diffrent Folks, some like Zaino some dont. Get off of your high horses and take a chill.

Your first paragraph makes no sense.

And this debate has nothing to do with liking or not liking a certain product. It has to do with a public representative of a company promoting his products by denigrating a competitor. It's one thing to promote the advantages of your product but another to disparage a competitor.

I think what many people have been noticing is the increasingly negative attacks on Zaino during the past few months on MOL and other places.

Irrelevant. Mike acknowleged, documented, and posted the comparison. All highly visible posters, regardless of the location of the original post, realize and understand how quickly a post such as this will propagate through the other forums.

So, what, propeganda? He wrote the thread in his own forum! You blame Mike that it got here, and gets roughhoused ??! ! Cmon!

If Zaino did a durability "comparison" on a Zaino forum, Zaino would be hyped as well!

When Mike had Autopia day at Meg's, the thread derived from that day was for the benefit of Autopians, as is the Zaino/NXT comparison.....

Once again, an Autopian thread stretched beyond its limits.....

Cant anyone read a thread without purposely poking and prodding, construing results for other than what its intended for ? (Wartime propaganda)

What is evident is NXT hid some swirls, darkend the paint, removed some oxidation vs, as opposed to what 12 layers of Zaino looks like. All can agree, two weeks later, the whole car will look like the Z'd side, so what! PPC is what is really needed...

This brings back memories of a few days ago..."If you dont like what you see, dont read it."

Heres another one..."so don't whine and get your panties in a bunch when somebody posts some thing you don't like."

I guess that makes Meguiar's a better product...

See! There it goes again. Nobody ever said anything about one product being better than the other. I know for a FACT that Zaino is pushed on ALL of the car forums...It just so happens that in this playground EVERYONE and every product gets a fair word in.

What propaganda? Just take a look at the pictures. Do a little reading at Meguairs Online. Since Mike saw fit to post a quote of mine on MOL, I'll post one of his on Autopia.

Mike Phillips said:
If you want a deep wet shine, with crystal clear reflections, if you want to do everything you can to eliminate those unsightly cobwebs swirls, then use Tech Wax. If you want the so-called plasticy look, (shine with all the scratches), then use the Zaino.

Hmmm - my 2 cents for what it's worth - I read through Mike's posts at MOL and never got the sense he was bashing or presented it in an unfair manner.

Agreed, I've never seen Mike talk down on another product or try to spin his results. The guy works for Meguiars so he's going to be using meguiars products to fix things. Had this test say been done next to turtle wax instead of zaino would you people still be complaining the way you are?

I posted that thread on my350z.com and the first thing these guys said was it was Propoganda and that Mike was clearly bashing Zaino. I see none of that, what I see are real world results of applying NXT to half a hood and leaving the other half as it was.

That's not the way it reads on MOL. You said, "Next up, our attention was focused on removing the swirls and restoring a rich, wet-looking high gloss finish to this black C5. The owner of the Corvette told us that he had over 12 layers of Zaino on his car..<snip>....when viewed up close, the finish is on the dull and hazy side because of the thousands of swirls in the finish. The black paint has what people call a plastic or plasticy look and lacks clarity and richness."

GeekySteve,

Did you ever stop to think that I did the write up After the event?

I did the write up on a Monday, two days after the event, upon which I already knew all of the facts.

Good detective work though...

Let me get this right. It is okay to twist the situational truth as long as it is not on Autopia?

Your kidding right? Please tell me your kidding. MOL is not a cheerleading section? My sides are hurt I'm laughing so hard. MOL is nothing more than a group of Mequiars users singing the praises of Meguiars Products and poorly representing every other product out on the market.

Mequiars users throw the word "zealot" around alot but there is no ZOL.

How do you document that Meguiar's users are the ones throwing around the word Zealot?

I see a lot of people use the word but I don't know their Meguiar's fans. Kind of painting with a broad stroke aren't you?

Mike

OKAY... I'VE HAD ENOUGH!

When it goes from friendly banter to bashing, the thread is way off track. This thread is no longer in the spirit of Autopia.

THREAD CLOSED... COOL OFF PEOPLE!
