im done , through, and over with klasse sg... it is so tempermental... sometimes it will smear, other times it wont.. ive tried every method possible, even asked multiple detailers, and still get crappy results. time to move on... to wolfgang, poorboys, and menzerna... worst sealant... any comments? lol.. hope i dont sound to pissed (which i am) :nixweiss

Hey, if a product doesn't work for *you* after (what you consider) reasonable attempts to master it, move on to something else. Don't worry about how it works for other people. Lots of stuff out there, something's gonna work great for you. You just have to find out what it is.

thanks for the kinds words.. and by no means dont think i am trying to diss the product and not tell people to buy it, because i know others swear by it.. im just voicing my opinion... as with everyone else i bought it to try it out, but unfortunately, i am disappointed with it

I'd definitely recommend Klasse tweak SG a little here and there to make it more user friendly. I do get aggrevation in return for really not spreading it ultra thin. I still mess up from time to time.

I felt the same way you do about SG when I first tried it about 2 years ago , I didn't like it so bad I shelved it until about three weeks ago. I've started to get the hang of it and found that the Surbuf applicators aid in applying very thin coats. Beyond that I still find that I need to use Sonus sprtiz to remove it with out issue.

Accumulator is right if it don't work for you let it go , personally I think it is alittle much for a consumer product , as a professional I even found it to be to difficult, but I'm giving it a second try maybe I'll get it this time around.

If you have some Klasse left that you'd like to trade let me know I may have something you could try.

dashotgun: that was one of the first methods i tried... helped, but still smearing...

detailbarn: i have some left... pm me telling me what u wanna trade.. and all that info

what kind or prep are you doing prior to putting it on? The last time I used it I used some Finnes II then AIO waited 24 then started layering the SG with wowo no smears.

Hmm I go to SG immediately after AIO, no wait. I get smearing from either too much product and/or overly humid conditions

dashotgun: i am using aio as a prep.. and sometimes polishes before the aio... but ive tried wiping with alcohol first, and even letting the aio cure (if it even does that) still no help

after trying wolfgang, and menzerna fmj, i dont think ill be going back to klasse... they work extremely well and are so much easier

humid conditions

I think this is a big problem that most experinece , I know thats what did it for me , I did find a neat little trick , but I'm not sure if it was a fluke or a one time thing. I put the SG in the fridge over night and then apply it , went on easier and then came off with out a hitch. I have to try this a few more times to see if it was really what helped.

As others said before, just aBay it or trade it for something else. There is a sea of sealants out there....1Z Glanz, EX-P, WG, Tropi-Care, etc. I hope you find something that works good before your broke trying all the products. ;)

I am by no means an expert with Klasse, this is my first time with it. I used AIO to prep and applied SG as per the directions. I didn't use the WOO method as I wanted to see for myself how it applied as per the instructions. I put it on thin and had absolutely no problems removing it. If you get it even a bit too thick (I did in a few places) it can be more difficult to remove but, not any more so than a carnauba if you apply it too thick. So far I am really impressed with Klasse.

For me the key is applying SG very thin. I have found that Poorboys PVA sponges work best. Good luck.

I am very fond of Klasse SG, but it requiresa fair amount of effort. Just put on a thin layer on a small area, then take it off. I've used it about a dozen times, and the only time I got into real trouble was when I used it in direct sunlight. It turns to plastic in seconds and is almost impossible to get off.

Having said that, it is amazing how much easier Wolfgang sealant is to work with. It is a breeze. I like it a lot over AIO, so you might try this combination.

Klasse SG works well for me using a foam hand pad, real thin coats and wipe on/wipe off method. The only problem I've had is when I miss a spot or put it on too thick and then it can be a PITA to remove. It is a good product but I don't really like it on black since it gives black paint a silvery sheen when viewed at an angle. I love it on silvers and pearls though.

Before you give up for good on SG, try this method - the way I do it.

Take a clean MF towel and wet it completely with water. Wring it out so that it is between completely wrung out and not dripping wrung out. (In other words you could still wring out a tablespoon's worth of water if you really twisted the heck out of it). Fold in half, then into 1/3's, at right angles to the first fold. Drizzle a fine line of SG down the center, parallel to the longest side. then wipe on a body panel or half (roof, hood, trunk, etc). IMMEDIATELY wipe off with a clean dry MF - you will probable need a minimum of 6 MS's just for the SG wipe-off part - always try to use a clean surface - reusing a part of the MF already used for wipe-off can leave streaks. Use the available light to look for streaks or smears and continue wiping until none remain. When adding SG to the MF for the next panel or part of a panel, add a little less SG each time - remember not all of it went on the vehicle and the applicator MF is "loading" with SG. After doing about 1/3 or you vehicle, refold the applicator MF to expose a clean, but damp surface (misting with water if becoming "dry"). You will know when to do this because you can detect a little "stickiness" on the MF and/or fingers. When done, re-examine for streaks - this is the part where having some SONUS Acrylic Spritz is handy. Lightly mist with SONUS the wipe down with yet another clean dry MF for a beautiful finish.

Gonzo..

Great tips.:up

I will be using some Klasse SG on my jetski's this weekend. I will be sure to give you method a try.

using a pc with both AIO and SG has helped smearing and eaised removal.

I used a meg polishing pad for AIO and work it in until it is almost invisable then wipe lightly with a clean MF.

With SG I use a finishing pad and light spray of water. Again working in the product until it is almost invisible.

I've never had any durability issues when using this method for Sg with any of mine or clients vehicles. It makes removal so much easier and allows for even ultra thin application also.

good luck.
