Swisswax Vs Zymol???

Seriously, though, here's my thoughts on the stuff:

1. Follow the directions for application to the letter. That means getting your hands nice and waxy. Yes, HD-Cleanse is a huge PITA, but use it anyway. Vintage's durability really is affected if you don't use the HD-Cleanse first.

2. I don't drive my car for at least 13 hours after I remove the wax. I've found that a good MF wipedown (use the plushest MF's you have) 13+ hours after you have removed the wax leaves a much better gloss and seems to do a pretty good job of preventing "blooming" problems later on.

3. One coat every three weeks keeps my car happy.

4. Try using a touch-free wash method with a Vintage'd car. You'll love the results. Your car will come completely clean, you "reduce the potential" for swirls, and your Vintage will last longer.

Just when I thought I could skip that and use something else :o I'll *almost* :argue (theoretically of course, not having used any Zymol) that Pinnacle's PCL oughta be functionally identical.

Are you going touchless now? Last I heard I thought you were using ONR  Heh heh, it's hard to keep up with what people are doing!

I can't really do the touchless thing with a PW as the mist/overspray would get on other stuff in the shop. But my regular method is pretty gentle ;)

Exactly !!

Heh heh, and therein lies the rub, whether we're talking wax, audio, or optics (or a host of other topics) :D

With everybody being different, the subjective evaluation of those results and the ?similar/not? factor sure do keep a lot of subjects on a full boil :D

Something I find interesting along those lines: I don't see too much disagreement between the proponents of these "exotic waxes". While a few Autopians have tried the EGs and said they just don't notice anything special, the people who *do* appreciate them seem to be in general agreement about what they experience.

Heh heh, I really *am* trying to apply critical thinking to this topic ;)

I haven't used Pinnacle's PCL, but I think you're right; any HD-Cleanse style glaze should work. I'll have to give that a try next spring

I've been dabbling in ONR and ONE quite a bit. They are real time savers when I don't have time to pull out the pressure washer, and will be the go-to products during winter. ONE is a *great* "quick" (ok, slow is probably more appropriate) detailer to use after an ONR wash with Vintage as an LSP.

And for sure, your regular wash method sets the standard in touch media gentleness.

I went on a real cleansing lotion kick a while back. Some may remeber. I ordered i think 7 paint cleansers.

PCL works great, but dosent add the depth of hd-celasne *IMO*

if you are looking for somting like hd-cleasne but cheaper, and easier to work with I would go with the VW lite cleanse. It does a very very similar job as hd-cleanse, but is not as big of a PITA to work with.

This of courese is just my opion
