Souveran to a haze before buffing

AMP99, thanx for the EX tip :xyxthumbs

the ride is look'n tight! nice job.

If you apply your souveran that often...have you ever considered applying liquid souveran after a few layers of paste?

I've never used either product, but I would guess that the higher solvent content of the liquid souveran would strip away the paste layer already on it, diminishing your overall amount of protection..

I have experimented with LS after a week over paste PS, so I'd be interested in whether it does strip it off...It didn't seem to, plus the web site says it can be layered. Does it mean LS can be applied on top of itself only, or on top of paste?

:nixweiss Theoreticly it seems that it would reinforce it & maybe make the paste last a little longer. This is very interesting...worth researching.Logicly, it does'nt seem that carnuba would strip carnuba, just because it is applied in a differant form. Let me know if you find any other oppinions on the subject.

I wonder what Pinnacle say's about it??

This forum has been a godsend. Thanks to all of you detailing nuts for helping me. I really do appreciate all of your help and enthusiam.

I picked up my new '03 Silver-Grey M3 Cab. this weekend. I had the dealer only wash the car and not wax it. He was not happy about that and mentioned to me not to mention to BMW Customer Survey when they call. Anyway, I clayed barred the car even though when I applied the clay bar to the car it just glided over the surface and I could tell it wasn;t picking up anything. I then rewashed the car with Dawn and applied two coats of AIO followed by a coat of SG. I removed the SG with a MF towel sprayed with FI. I am going to put another coat of SG on today and then one more on Thursday (this is Tuesday). This weekend I am going to put on a coat of Souveran this weekend.

All I can say is WOW. The finish at this stage is like liquid glass. I cannot imagine the what it will look like after a coat of souveran. I am going to use the haze technique mentioned in this thread. Do you think that I should put more than 1 coat of Souveran on?

Bob

I believe that he was referring to Souveran. I will concur with that also - at least 2 coats of Souveran with 24 hours between each.

Can one ever have too much Souveran? I think not. ;)

I just finished using the new Souveran Haze Method. I have a new auto that I picked up last weekend. Here is my method.

1. Tell dealer not to wax car.

2. Wash with Dawn

3. Klasse AIO X2

4. Klasse SG X3

5. Souveran Left on for 30 mins. Removed with MF sprayed with FI. This allowed me to take off the Souveran very easily. There is no waxes or silicones in it.

6 results- WOW!!! I will post pics on Sunday after the rain stops up here in the NE. The results are stunning. I cannot wait to see what it looks like with a second coat of Souveran.

Hey Guys,

I always Hated Zymol because I felt rushed taking it off. I moved on to Swissol which uses the haze method.

I found it gave instant results that felt like silk, whereas the zymol took over night to feel as good.

I now have PPCL, AIO , SG x 3 and 5 coats of Souveran.

I replace the Souveran after every wash.

I tried the haze method a while back with souveran, and it is the same as Swissol in that it gives a faster result. However it still felt better the next day.

I still can't get over how easy PS is to use. It just glides on and wipes effortlessly off. I'm hooked on it. But I still feel it looses it slick feel after just one wash, so I replace it with another coat after every wash.

I feel there is a very slight extra effort in taking it off with the haze method as the MF cloth feels like it catches rather than effortless glide, and it does seem a tiny bit chaulky. No where near others though.

I spent 3 days converting from Zaino to Souveran. Pretty involved since i had to strip, clay, buff, buff, buff and more buff ( SMR.FII,PCL ).

End result. Very estatic. I noticed the Souveran comes alive after 24 hrs. I used the hazing method since i started with the top of the roof, worked down to the tonneau cover, flaresides, doors, hood, fenders then lastly the whole front end.

Im wondering if hitting the hazed up Souveran with say a PC strapped with a Grey Foam Polishing pad would do anything good?

Black Lightning..Do you feel that letting the Souveran haze gives it a better than wiping it off wet???? I am thinking of giving this a try....

I missed a couple of places and the Souveran dried on the car and I cannot get it off. What is the best way to do this. There are only small areas nothing big. Is this a stupid question?

A little QD with take care of that problem. How long did you leave it on? In the sun? How hot ?

No question is stupid. Assuming you know the answer is a lot less intelligent.

It wasn't in the sun at all. I guess the lighting wasn;t that great in my garage and I missed a couple of place. I put a coat of Final Inspection on and that didn;t take it off just kind of hid it. Will a little souveran take it off if I don;t let it haze and just work those spots with the dried souveran on it.

Bob

I am surprised that a QD did not resolve those spots. Yes, try working some Souveran into the effected areas. Of course if that does work a little paint cleanser or MF with Dawn will cure it.

What surprises me Bob, is that Souveran have never completely hardened on me ( max time ~20 mins.).

Let us know what happens and what worked to resolve this dilemma. :nixweiss
