SilverStars

Hey Scott is there a trick to removing the headlamps on your Mazda? There are two tabs on mine that you're supposed to squeeze in, and then pull it straight back. But it doesn't want to pull back when I push the tabs in. Any advice?

What size bulb is it? If its an H3 there's a screw holding a clip on. A buddy and I had a hell of a time putting silverstars into his isuzu because we didn't know about that screw.

 I have H4/9003 bulbs, just a twist and I can pull them out. If you have 9005/6 bulbs, keep squeezing. I had a hard time with the original bulbs in my Honda.

It's a 9003ST.

I can't twist mine. The manual says to push the tabs in on the back of the bulb, and then to pull straight back. I guess your car is different.

When you guys get done pulling, twisting, and squeezing, maybe you can tell me how to get this *&%#$ doorknob off of my bathroom closet so I can fix the lockset. Cuz no matter what I do, it don't wanna come off.

How do you know which bulb to buy? If I wanted to put them on my 1996 Civic (the current lighting blows) which size/model do I look for?

thanks.

Go into your owner's manual, all bulb replacement numbers should be in there, if not call the local dealer or the guy at the counter should be able to help you.

My owner's manual gave me some number I'd never seen before, so I looked it up by going to Advanceautoparts.com and clicking on shop online. Then I proceeded to pick my make/model/engine, and found my headlight. It told me that it was a 9003ST. There's a number I can understand.

I heard somewhere that the Silverstars were just tinted Sylvannia Xtravisions. Can anyone confirm? Because if so, the Xtravisions seems like a better deal.

Had them on my Jetta, these bulbs are worth the upgrade. As stated better beam pattern and color is white but won't hurt vision in the rain like many aftermarket bulbs :up

Sorry I'm so late adding to this conversation, but Silverstars are by absolute fav. I put them in everything I own, and I have yet to be disappointed.

Are you guys having any reliability problems with the Sylvania Silverstars? I only got about a 9 months out of my first set. The Xtravisions in my other vehicle have outlasted them by a considerable amount. (but not quite as bright)

I did the same with my Accord, huge improvement. Pretty easy to do too.

If you have H3 or H7, though the Osram Silverstars are better, they even have a sharp cutoff line when the light hits a wall, just like HIDs. Not as bright but the beam is nearly as wide and long.

Tell me tell me. :D

How long do these last for? I have the original lamps on my 10 year old Civic and they work fine although I'd like to see these in action on my car.
