Review on Collinite 845 Insulator Wax

I have been looking to purchase a pint of Collinite 845 and was in search of the best price. My local Advance Auto doesn't carry it and wouldn't order it for me ("You can order it on the internet yourself"). After searching all around, most places have it for $12-15, but then you get hit hard on shipping charges (>$10 and often plus tax). I found reference to http://www.mactecllc.com which supposedly has free shipping but when I tried to place my order there ($14.25) I was referred to my local distributor instead (waxbytes.com, I'm in TX). It would have cost me over $21 from waxbytes. I ended up ordering it from Advance Auto online, for $11.48 + $4.31 shipping + $1.30 tax for a total of $17.09. The bottle I received is the 'old' version, no 'Paste' on the bottle.

I've never used the old or the new, this bottle will last me a while...

I'll be trying out hte 845 once it arrives... I need some durability for my family's cars that I don't pay much attention to more than 3-4 times a year.

Definitely Collinite 845 if you are looking for durability. Klasse AIO is intended as a cleaning wax that gets rid of oxidation and such. Collinite is a last-step-product used to seal and protect.

I've never tried the ATJ :nixweiss

But generally I wouldn't expect bonding issues with 845. I've used it over various things and it always worked fine.

I figured since the earlier threads had people using KAIO/KSG/collinite I wanted to try the same except substitute AJT for KSG. Has anyone else tried this?

I can't help but wonder if it's worth the bother to have a durable sealant under the Collinite. Collinite (especially the 476S paste) protects so well that I wouldn't see any benefit from having a single layer of sealant under it. And I'd expect the appearance to reflect the Collinite, not anything under it (but that's just a guess).

I'd AIO/etc. to clean then put some Collinite on. Then apply more Collinite after each of the next few washes. Then just wash for a while. Then, when the beading starts to drop off, clay with Sonus green and reapply Collinite.

What the deal with VOC? It seems like its a better product but being a noob I have know idea why. Splain?

FYI: One thing I got from an email from Collinte's CS is 845 & 925 are the same products and 476 & 885 are the same products.
