Reasonable price for David Fermani to Opti Coat a NEW car?

My guess is that if Dave had met with him, pointed out the issues and described what was involved in correcting them, he may have understood why 20 hours may be required. With that said, I fully believe Dave coulda gone over that beast with a solid 1 step (still leaving behid several defects), and the OP would have thought it was "1000% perfect"....because again, I don't think he has any idea how bad his car really is. I am amazed with how many people can't see swirls, even when you point them out to them. Some people have an eye for paint defects, and some don't I guess.



3- Quality detailers are still perceived by the general public as just being car cleaners. Sad....especially seeing as to how my detailing arsenal exceeds (in value) the cost of most of my clients' golf clubs....and most good detailers have spent more time honing their craft, than said clients spend taking golf lessons and on the driving range.



4- You can really rent a condo in Trump Tower on a $150k salary? Interesting



5- I think the OP will be in for a shock when he trades in, or sells his "brand new BMW" and sees what a bath he is gonna take because it has been repainted.

Wait you got a 2010 6 series with around 60 miles yet you still couldn't search for a 2010 in the color you wanted?



The whole part that you need to have it repainted it throws a flag about this 1000% brand new BMW you own.



You also have a Six Series which if I remember right don't dip into the 60k's new no matter how you slice it. Than you also bought HREs which is going to set you back 1k (on the cheap side) per barrel.



So you're looking for a detail and yet find 1700 dollar quote sight unseen unreasonable? I would've asked Dave if he had the chance to look at the car to see the price could've been lowered since he than would been able to give you an even more fair value on your quote.



BUT you decided to make a thread and fish for someone who was a "pro" and get them be on your side...but I haven't seen any pro detailer charge less than 200ish for JUST OC2.0.



So basically all you did was herp derp the herpity derp.

Keep in mind that this guy wanted his wheels done 1st at an agreed price of 4-5 hours. At that time I was going to inspect his vehicle and hone in on a more precise quote for the exterior and schedule him in for it at a later date.

Gotcha. The only way this thread could have been better, is if you had viewed the car, and taken pics of all the defects that we all know have to be there, then had him tell you 20 hrs was too much.



I am still baffled by being able to rent at Trump Tower on only a $150k salary. But, he also got a detail by the best detailer in Southern Cal for $350. He must be one of those extreme couponers.
