POWER Waterless Auto Washer... On The Cheap

I have used mine about 10 times with no issues. I purchased a back up unit just in case, I really like the Nomad.

I'm at about 15 .This is one of those things that you wish you bought it sooner

I was wondering if there is a chance of burning up the unit with the 18 volt bateries. Since the owners manual says it is a 12 volt motor? A car dealer friend of mine just kept pointing out to me that right on the Nomad it says 12 volt! New replacement will be here Thursday. I really missed this machine too!

DC motors are more forgiving than AC. Plus, most automotive systems run on a DC volt range from 12 to 18 volts. My Ford Bronco alternator charges at 16+ volts.

The whole reason I recommended the 18v battery to begin with is because that's what the large Nomad system uses. It's not stepping down the power.

Exactly Why i used it aswell. It runs flawlessly

I just finally opened my Nomad today. I took a few quick looks at it and the connector that plugs into the machine looks exactly like the one that plugs into my laptop power supply. Would I be able to just use that instead of the whole inverter thing?

Just turned it on...worked for 2 sec then shut off. Now its not doing anything :(. Hopefully I'll get a replcement.

u may burn the transformer. try again with your car and see if the nomad is burn before u send it out for exchange.

nomad has a fuse 8A in the 12v plug, check that too.

Do you have water in it ? If not try it with some in it .

Just got my replacement today. It looks a bit different than other one, more square shaped. It also has a better looking nozzle. I believe it has a little more pressure too.

Yeah its got water. I called the company I got it from and they are sending me a shipping label to send back and theyll either give me a refund or another one. :woot:

Two questions:

Would this jump starter be sufficient enough to power the Nomad. Its on sale for $50 at amazon:

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Duracell-DPP-300EP-Powerpack-300-watt-Compressor/dp/B000TKBLHM/ref=pd_sbs_auto_1]Amazon.com: Duracell DPP-300EP Powerpack 300 with Built-in 300-watt Inverter and 250 PSI Air Compressor: Automotive[/ame]

Also whats the difference between these two Nomad units from amazon:

The second one is slightly cheaper after shipping

Just received my Nomad yesterday and tried it out today. I was loving it until I accidentally pulled too hard on the hose and the plastic fitting that goes from the nomad to the hose popped out (Check out the pic below). This caused the nomad to leak the water that was in the tank.

Anyone experience this problem?

Also I ordered it from orangeonions on amazon. Has anyone gotten a replacement from them? Thanks

That sucks but mine are fine . I donot put any stress on those fittings as .I always leave slack . I just reposition the washer as needed. You can try to get a replacement from them. If not I think nomad will replace it .
