Well Ryobi's work flawlessand that is basically who makes the batteries for the High end nomads . I have used it on my car several times and its still going strong

u have the 12 v nomad unit?

Here's an easier battery mod. I'm going to cut the length of the cord too and

place the battery in a Ziploc plastic bag with velcro straps or rubber bands...

I have a couple of these batteries as well but haven't tried them as I know that the Ryobi's were definittly going to work. I will give these a try and see if the discharge as fast as yours

** Update tried my B&D 18 volt batts today and it work as well as the Ryobi's so I yours are discharging fast you may have a defective pack**

Instead of using HD FREE or ONR, I think HD TOTAL with the Nomad would do

a better cleaning job. Then fllow up with HD FREE by hand.

So what does everyone think about the product?

I live in a condo and it could definitely be useful!

I would probably use it to pre-soak the car before using ONR. It would also be useful for the fender liner and wheels.

Love it works like a charm. It will be perfect for someone in a condo or an apartment with limited water access

I agree with rwisejr 100%. We live in a townhouse with limited access to a water supply. I used the Nomad twice in my garage since I got it. It works so well, I ordered a backup in case the first one craps out:lol

Can you connect a foam gun to this unit?

Not the same fittings and most likely does not spray enough water. When you spray the Nomad, the stream is very thin, much thinner than a stream our of your hose.

I got 3 of them to take advantage of the free shipping and used the coupon code and paid 104 all together. They just arrived today. I got one for me one for a buddy, and one to resell on ebay for 125 bucks when everyone else runs out. :)

No !!!!! You can not that requires a regular pressure washer

I have a foam gun for my garden hose that works great.:nixweiss I think it is the Gilmour? I thought that maybe it might work with this tool because it works with my regular hose on regular well pressure.

However, I want to get the foam cannon or foam lance for my pressure washer.

I just received mine yesterday and will be hooking up my DeWalt 18V battery pack today. Those who will be washing their car in a garage, you might be interested in this garage mat.

Krauss Surface Saver - Features

With it's 3/4" high raised sides, it definitely holds a lot of water. When you are done, just squeegee the water over and out the end of the mat nearest the garage door. I have one, but since I have a drain in my garage, I fitted a shower drain kit to the mat right over the floor drain. Now, any water on the mat just flows down the drain. It keeps the rest of my garage floor clean and dry. It's also great for collecting all that winter road crud that falls off the car. Soon as Spring comes, I roll it up and store it away till next winter. In fact, I'll be getting mine out of the crawl space later today, because the outside washing season is definitely gone for the Chicago area. Take care!

How long does it take to charge the battery? And how long does one charge last?

The Ryobi batteries take about and hour to charge and last for several cars The Dewalt takes maybe an hour as well but it doesn't hold the charge as long using it on this unit so I would stick with the Ryobi If you have a choice

NOMAD DIED TODAY!

Yes it did! Just glad I was not in the middle of a detail. I had just finished cutting my yard, and was going to spray my truck a bit to get the dust off. Hooked up the Nomad and nothing. No noise after hooking it up. Called the company and was told to fax a copy of my invoice and they would send out another one. So I'll let you know when I get the replacement. No questions asked. I was Shocked! They must have had a few problems with some of them. Anyone had this happen to their Nomad?
