Seems to be a common question about Souveran. Is it worth it? If you have a dark color (green, blue, black, red, maroon, dark grey) and you're seeking rich depth and that magic "glow" that souveran is known for...........then hell yeah!! It's the oils contained in Souveran that set it apart from the rest. To me, Souveran has always been about the "look" and not about durability. Expect 4-6 weeks of optimum looks and moderate durability. (when your vehicle is kept out of rain/snow) Souveran looks stunning on my black paint. If you're looking for a jaw dropping rich-wet look, with plenty of depth and wetness, then prep your paint with a good polish, glaze with RMG (or pink moose) and follow that with 2 layers of Souveran. (Danase Wet Glaze, CG EZ Creme Glaze, or CG Wet Mirror Finish can be used in place of the RMG if desired.) Wash weekly (or when needed) with ONR, and follow your wash with a quality QD spray. You can enhance Souveran's durability by using a QD with carnauba in it. Crystal Mist or Sonus Carnauba Spritz work very well. There's even a Souveran Spray Wax out now, which can boost your layers of Souveran. So many choices........So little time!
Are there other carnauba waxes on the market that are more cost effective/cheaper than Souveran? Yep. Sure are. But IMHO, there has yet to be a paste wax that duplicates it's looks and final finish. S100/P21S, Natty's Blue/Red, M26, Max Wax, Trade Secret, Pin Sig Series, Pink Wax etc. etc. all produce different looks when compared to Souveran. At least to my eyes on black paint. The one paste wax that I've found to be pretty damn close to Souveran in the looks department would be CG's Pete's 53. (It almost seems like it's CG"s answer to Souveran. Just my opinion.)
