PakShak Vs Adam's Vs Cobra for Polishing

Hi all, I recently purchased some of PaKShak's "Silver Surfer" Edgeless microfibers for polishing. They work great! I was finding it extremely difficult to remove my Meg's Ultimate Polish, but these things did the trick. 


 


Adamspolishes.com sells "Adam's Edgeless Microfiber Utility Towels" for a bit less than PakShak, and from what I can tell they appear identical, except that they are a slightly darker shade of gray.
 
I was originally going to go with Cobra Indigo polishing cloths from Autogeek, but they have been out of stock on all the Cobra edgeless polishing cloths for months.


 


 


So has anyone used the Adam's towels? If so, can you give your opinion on them, or can you say how they compare to PakShak?


Also, how do the PakShak stack up against the Cobras? The Cobra towels look somewhat different in the up-close pictures.

I've never tried the Adams ones, but my PakShaks are superior to my Cobras.  BUT...note that there are different versions of both, and in many cases the diffs won't really matter.  That said, I've learned to *NOT* skimp on MFs, if only for my peace of mind.  Easy for me to spend your money though!
 
Forget all those. If you want the highest quality towel check out Microfiber Madness. If I was going Cobra, I would look at the 600gsm purple towel. It has microfiber borders and is very high quality. It has never scratched for me.
 
Autoality.com has some excellent MF products at reasonable prices.  Their Plush and Edgless Fluffy are both Korean made and very high quality and the Ultra Plush is a great dying towel.

Well, for one I was doing this in August in St. Louis, outside. Also, the Megs seems to dry really quick; even after I got the PakShak towels the parts that were in direct sunlight were difficult, despite the temp being in the 50s.

As for the previous 2 replies, I appreciate the advice, and those towels seem to be top-notch, but I am looking for something with a shorter nap (I think I am using that term correctly).  From my experience and what I have read, polish removal towels should have a short nap for better grip.

Well for now it seems the Silver Surfers are the only true polishing towels sold by PakShak (They used to be white I believe). I'm glad to hear you prefer them over the Cobras. Cobra seems to offer their polishing towels in multiple colors that are otherwise identical. And trust me, I do not skimp! You would be impressed with my collection :)

I'm sure they're nice, but they look more like the Chemical Guys towels I use for my interior, just darker in color. They seem too long for polishing towels.

The "Plush" towels I mentioned from Autoality are a short nap towel, but very soft, that I use for polish and LSP removal all the time.  They are very effective.

You are totally right. I reserve these towels just for the removal of sealants/waxes and for Quick Detailers. I totally see your point about wanting a shorter nap for polish removal.

I use the PakShak "Ultra Plush" ones for polish removal (and for most everything else polish/LSP related too).
 
Accumulator ... send me a message .. tried to message you but won't let me .. need a bit of a favour.
 
I like the CarPro BOA's for what you are describing. Ultra soft and have no edges. Korean made. Also they are 16x24" which I like for removing polishes over a large area.
 
Man I don't know how you guys use these thick towels for polish removal. Maybe it's just the Meg's ult polish, but when I used even my Chemical Guys supra towels, they would just get stuck in the polish and roll. It was nearly impossible to keep them folded. The short naps are still soft, but the shorter nap gives better control IMO. The longer nap is fluffier, and good for getting up dirt, but not polish.

I guess I'm confused about what you mean by "polishing towels" in this context.  When I polish my vehicles, I use the PakShak UltraPlush ones for everything from by-hand correction to buffing off machine-wokred polish (and also for LSP buffing).  Zero issues, complete satisfaction...but then I'm not working on stupid-soft paints either and that could factor in.
 
Well I don't know how soft my paint is. It's a 14 Mustang. I'm kind of a newb, so I may be saying it wrong. I have been applying Meg's Ultimate Polish by hand. The "polishing towels" I am referring to are the towels I use to remove that polish. When I use the longer nap towels, they just stick to the polish and don't move. The shorter nap "Silver Surfer" towels glide over the polish and remove it with little effort.
 
Although, when I was having those problems it was much hotter out. By the time I received my PakShak towels it was about 20 degrees cooler, so the heat may very well be the culprit. Like I said, newb.

Heat or no heat…Pakshak Silver Surfers were made to easily remove polish and waxes.
