Optimum Polish with PC experiences?

I have heard good things about the versatility of the new Optimum Polish. I know it works well with the rotary, but I'd like to hear some experiences using with a PC.

Thanks for your help!

Craig

I have used it with both and it has a VERY VERY long working time.. so when you use it I would suggest a speed of 5 and working it till it's gone. just take your time and let the polish do it's work and you'll be fine

Spreads ALOT, but achieves a very clean and clear look. Easily a polish I'll turn to with a rotary. Takes some time with PC, but it's very worth it.

I agree with the others. Works great with the PC, has a long working time and finishes down extremely nicely.

The big O is my go-to via rotary, however it is not by PC. It works in forever, and I find that SSR2.5 is a better choice via PC. When using a rotary, however, I haven't found anything that'll touch the versatility and easy of use of the big O.

P.s. I'm just about out, anyone know if you can order the polish in gallons?

Hey Holland Patrick, how's it going?

Thanks for asking about the doctor! I'm still alive and kicking!

I've been spending time over @ the S2K forums, that's the Honda S2000 site for fans of their 2 seater sports car. All of a sudden I got the hots for this baby.

Great little car! I've taken a few test drives and all I can say is this is the car for my mid-life crisis!!!

Only trouble is I still have some time left on my Acura lease, and unlike GM for instance, I can't just stroll out of one lease into another (they call it their "pull ahead" program) without paying a penalty. However, I'm trying to work a deal with some of the Honda dealers in the area. Hopefully one dealer will want my business badly enough to take the Acura off my hands.

But darn, if I was looking for a slightly used Acura I'd want mine. It's a "cream puff". Looks as good - no better - than the day I brought it home from the dealer. That's the result, of course, of the Autopian influence ! :LOLOL

PS: do you know any of the Honda dealers in your area?

No but one of the guys I work with has one of the s2000 in a matalic grey. it's nice he started the Autopian way from thier boards. I found sonus wrapers in the garbage at work and was starching my head because I was the only one using thier stuff at the time.. He is all Klasse and sonus For now.

His car needs some VM/UPP to make it pop

Nope, only in 32oz.

You could buy 5 bottles and since it is usually 15 bucks it would be 75 bucks plus shipping. There is always a webiste that has it on sale for 12 or 13 bucks though to save some money.

anybody know how similar it is to Mothers PowerPolish? the Mothers works pretty easily by rotary.

I haven't tried OP, but it sounds very similar. From what I've read OP dusts a bit more and is a bit more expensive.

I now use MPP as my regular polish on my customers cars with the other polishes used on special occassions.

I consider MPP and OP the new generation of polishes which are 'all purpose' and 'multigrade' with just a pad swap.

Price wise I think MPP costs around $12 for 16oz. Opt. polish is about $15 for 32oz.

Comparison wise I can't comment on MPP against OCP as I have not used it. I do not think however that it dusts more nor is it more expensive.

Thanks for the feedback, Anthony.

MPP is normally under $10 for 16oz...I though OP price was for 16oz not 32oz. That still makes OP very good value.

As I said, I haven't used OP but I thought I read it dusts slightly. If it doesn't, I stand corrected on both counts.

I am eager to try optimum polish and compound, then I can compare it with mothers powerpolish (MPP) which is a great product by itself.

These new versatile polishes make it easier as you don't have to match an exact pad to an exact product. MPP work beautiful by PC, and also has a long working time.
