Optimum Car Polish and ShoKar Twins

Alfisti,

Your question was talked about in this thread

http://autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49146&perpage=12&highlight=review\[\^\\s\][^\s]*&pagenumber=1

I for one agree with you that products should be available for all before being publicly reviewed.

This then would be a standard only done in Autopia. Car reviews, stereo reviews, computer, cosmetics, dentistry, medical and a host of others all have reviews of products prior to their release.

When I first posted about Shokar I was under the impression that it was soon headed for sale, which was the intention of eShine. Chris from eShine had pretty much forgotten about the samples sent to me because I took so long in using them and then reviewing them. In the meantime the cost for shipping Shokar was too extreme and the product was shelved. This is all explained in the thread of my review.

Now things are different. Shokar should be ready for sale in April according to eShine, as soon as they have the bottles and such ready.

My only question on this, evidently, emotive subject is, why are products that aren't publicly available being publicly reviewed? :nixweiss

I was going to wait until it was released before doing a review. When I saw Anthony did a review and really liked it and hadn't even tried my samples, I figured he had inside information that release was imminent, so I tested it out and have been pretty pleased with it, although I would top it with a carnauba on black.

The information I have now is that it meets VOC regulations and as soon as they can get it shipped here, it will be available for sale.

It was just a very rare occasion that I actually got to try a product under a different name, learned it's one and the same as another discussed and can now relate my own personal experience of it For me, it's just not "special" enough to go and order.Someone else with a different set of criteria might really find this product to be a godsend.

That is exactly why I like the Long Haul Truck Gloss. Same product as Race Glaze's Gloss Highlighter. I don't like it as much as Quikshine, so I am not going to pay QS prices for it. However, since I can get the Long Haul version for $5 in a 28 oz bottle, it is much more appealing. Works great when you mix an ounce in with QEW. :)

Anthony,

Just read about Optimum today and ordered OCP, OCW and Protetant+. Also, waiting the ML-7 steamer to arrive next week.

What is the speed range with OCP when using rotary buffer and PC?

I am interested to find a light weight canopy that one man can set up. What brand and model pop up canopy are you using?

Howdy:wavey

Great news to hear about your recent Optimumorder, you'll really like the products and if oyu have any other questions regarding their application let me know.

If I am removing bad swirls/heavy scratches I will use either an orange pad or a wool pad and have the rpm's in the upper range of about 1600 to 1800. For mild scratches, swirls and general polishing I will run the rotary betwen 1200 to 1400 rpm's. For finish work I usually run it around 1000 to 1200 rpm's.

The ML-7 is just an awesome tool...you're gonna find new stuff to clean withit every day!

As for a canopy that is light weight and easy to put up with one person......that would be great if they actually made those:D To be effective you need a canopy that's at least 15X10. A 10X10 works OK but as the sun moves you need to move the canopy also. A 15X10 is pretty heavy and while one person can set it up it is NOT truly "E-Z". I believe Costco and Sams have canopies for sale at reasonable prices but I am not certain of the size. Go to Sams website and check them out.

Hope that helps,

Anthony
