I would argue the same goodwill is achieved by Optimum Polymer Technologies due to Scott's (Scottwax) endorsement of Optimum polishes, No Rinse Wash and Shine, and other products due to his reputation on this board. If Scott were to mention in a thread that he was having difficulty with an Optimum product, I feel pretty safe that Dr. Ghodoussi would not just dismiss this as incompetence. If anything, he (or someone else at Optimum) would be researching why the difficulty is coming up and how to resolve the issue people are having and communicate such resolutions.

Funny you should mention that, because I talked to David last week about his polishes. He know I am using Meguiars #105 and 3M Ultrafina at least as much as I use Optimum's polishes. He wanted to know specifically what the other products do that his don't so he can use that information to help make his polishes even better than the competition. :)

The 106 FA has been around for a while now, this is correct. We decided to start carrying this product as many customers were asking for it. Theres alot of versions of the 106 polishes that are sold to different factories the ones we here the most about are the po85rd,106ff and 106fa. The 106Fa is the newest version of the 106 nano polishes.

That makes more sense. :up

Heh, well if he figures something out that's better than his competitors, I'll gladly pick those up.

If Mr. Silver posts here, he could be at risk for being banned. I can think of several recent situations where the seller of a product came here to defend their product's reputation and in the end they were banned under the spam rule.

He has posted on this thread (jsilver6) and honestly if he got banned it would probably do more for a postive image of his company. The best thing he could do is get banned and then maybe he wouldn't insult some of the best detailers on this site with one clumsy push of his enter button.

I'm a Small Business owner, and I can honestly say that if a purveyor that I use regularly, said this to me: "I can only hope that their skill level improves to match the quality of the product", I would take it as an insult(especially in your line of work) and may or may not pursue it further with the individual. Most assuredly though, no matter how happy I am with the product, I would find a replacement ASAP just due to the principal of the matter.

After reading this thread, it was QUITE apparent jilver6 was being sarcastic and not forthright......IMO.

NO MENZ PRODUCTS FOR ME, until I hear an apology to Bee/TH001 and all the other detailers Mr. Silver spoke too.

I am not even in the same ballpark as the guys in this thread, but I experienced filling from 106ff this past weekend while polishing a 2002 NBP Honda Accord. I was using SIP with an orange LC pad, then 106FF with white pad....Looked great. I then did a prep-all wipe, and there were swirls in plain sight.

Just my dos pesos.

Allow me to speak on Jeff Silver's behalf...

You are a liar and our products don't fill. If you experienced filling that you are not good enough for or products...

(The contradiction is your skill level somehow made something that CANNOT happen magically happen).

For the record, I have seen Jeff constantly checking this thread so I will make an offer to him...

If you are ever in Florida look me up. I will take the time out of my day and money out of my pocket to teach you how to use your products.

Todd

Damn it. I knew it!!

Anybody want to buy about $3000 worth of detailing supplies? I now have no use for them.

:rofl

That's pretty cool that he did that. However, it seems like putting what the other products do and his don't into words would difficult. One of those cases where he would have to use them himself to see.

Hi all. It's my feeling that this thread has gone way too far. Many of the comments (finger pointing and accusations) are NOT in line with Autopia values. I'm closing the thread.

For those of you involved, please ask yourself if it is so important for you to be "right". Manufacturers make products and market them for sale. If you don't agree with their marketing or don't like their product, don't use it.

What I find most disturbing about this thread is that some (one or more) of the people involved have financial interest in other products. The moderators and I generally discover that those people fighting the hardest (our loudest) have a personal interest of one sort or another.

So, again I ask, is it so important to be right?
