My Favorite New Wax (The Japanese Souveran)

Here's an old pic of Soft99 Authentic Excellent.

They did update their site and streamlined their Authentic line. I hope it was for the best.

So what the equivalent wax to the authentic excellent? I'm guessing that the authentic premium is their top wax now.

Have any of you guys used the authentic gold, silver or titanium? Whats your take on these compared to the premium?

I have the authentic gold and found that it is comparable to s100 in terms of looks, application, and durabillity. (imo)

looks great on red too

Well you've sparked my curiosity... :) Wonder what is the complete difference between Premium and Excellent... :/ Thanks Bence for posting that vendor--they're a bit more than autobacs especially after shipping but I guess it'll have to do for being in IL.

If you're talking about autofreak, I wouldn't recommend them. Customer service is non-existent and their web site is unstable. The few times I visited them in the past I ran across SQL queries and record sets when searching for products. A couple of friends ran into the same thing as well. Not something that instills customer confidence. I haven't been to their site in over a year, so maybe they've cleaned it up. But that first impression wasn't good. Just a heads up...

Thanks for the heads up :wow: ; I really appreciate it and looks like I'll do some browsing around the net

Let me check around my area. There's a little Japanese market/community close to me that I know sells Soft99 products, but I'm not sure if they carry their wax. If I can get my hands on some, I'll let you know.

Cheers, GMCloud

where is this place on beach blvd, and what else do they sell.

Visit www.autobacsusa.com for directions. Autobacs is all over japan and finally opened one in america last year. Its a car enthusiast's paradise, they pretty much sell everything. Aftermarket performance parts, wheels, models, basically everything for your car. Also they have a huge selection of detailing products both japanese and american. They even carry the full line of 1z einzett. You should stop by, its worth the trip.

There's an Autofreak store near where I live. I've seen the Soft 99 waxes there before but never tried any of them out.

I can see this being great if you lived in Japan but since there's such a big selection of products in the US, I am sure you can find stuff that's equivalent from a US vendor. Also, since stuff is imported, it is marked up to account for the importation costs.

Update: Just did the whole car, wet wet wet! Sorry for the dark pic, sun was going down. I say it looks pretty damn close to souveran! Will get some pics up tomorrow morning.

IIRC the price of the Authentic Premium was around $15...

This stuff looks cool, I'm trying to find the best 15 dollar wax. So far I ruled out Natty's because of it's lack of durabilty(although it looks excellent), Collinite because it's harder to use than S100, and FK1's Pink Wax because that stuff is plain Nasty and a royal PITA to remove. I'm pretty impressed with GPEC and was ready to declare it champ in my book, but this stuff looks pretty cool! I may have to reopen my case after closing the book on those other waxes. Thanks for the review.

ZK where is autofreak in san francisco. i wouldnt mind trying this wax out

It's in Japantown center on Geary street. Let us know if you pick some up! They have all sorts of different waxes and I have no idea what's what as they're all in Japanese.

If this stuff is like all the other Carnuba waxes, I'd say durability is on par with the usual Carnuba stuff like Nattys, P21S and Souveran - which is not very long. Unless it is truly mind blowing, I'll stick to the sealants.
