Muscle/economy Or BOTH ?

WOW !!!!

My point of this thread was the great mileage that I got on my trip.

IMHO - 36+ MPG ain't too bad for a 460+hp engine, on a car that is able to do 195 MPH (nannied)

Since I have been racing since I was 16 y/o . There is no substitute for pure brawn. :D

Technology is great, but gimme good old fashioned Detroit iron (figure of speech) or mebbe a combo of both.

I'm old school where cid/compression ratio, a holley "double pumper", headers posi and 392+ rears is what made a car go, then mebbe add a blower (super charger for your youngins) and ya got something special.

To me it's sorta like the crash ratings of today - which would you rather be in? A suburban or smart car in a crash?

V-6 rumble ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Only with a fart can exhaust :D

It's a generational thing, different perspectives on what's cool at the car show. Sonic's throwin' down about 140, right?

Nope, missed the boat, the ship has sailed. The dinghy with the V6 Merc Cruiser will be along in about an hour. ;)

Had you told me maybe I wouldn't have missed it. I'll wait for that V6 dinghy since you are sailing it shouldn't be problem making up that hour!!!

I'll stick with Japanese sports cars, some of which have a nice mix of power and MPG.

Mine however does not meet those standards. Overall I average about 19.5 MPG in a 4cyl  .

You just need an English Racing tune. I get over 32 mpg with my Evo IX. puts down over 400 hp and 350 tq. Just tune your final gear for economy. It doesn't hurt to rebuild the transmission with the HKS final drive and JDM 5th gear to lengthen the gearing.

8 observable mpg on track however. :rofl

Love your quotes/signature lines

I have a 13 Charger RT Black Top, 13 Durango RT Black Top and a 13 GT500 with every option except the glass roof. My previous daily drivers were Ford Fusion and Toyota Highlander. In no way shape or form do I want to go back to a V6 after having 2 Hemis as daily drivers. The Charger gets 14 and the Durango gets 13 around town and I could care less. Every time I press my foot down there is a smile on my face. Durango runs 15.5 and the Charger runs 13.8 spinning off the line. I have gotten 23 mpg with the GT500 in 6th gear at 60 mph and I will never drive her like that again.
