Menzerna FMJ

I am posting this because I would like to hear your personal opinions about Menzerna FMJ. There's only one review in the reviews section, and I haven't really heard much about it. Also, does anyone know of any place that sells it for less than $40 for 16 ounces? I would love to try some, but at that price, I don't see it happening very soon! (unless you guys convince me, which I'm sure will happen)

Same here, I see premiumautocare.com sells it too, same price. It better blow Klasse, Zaino and other top choices out of the water even if a little bit will go a long way.

It's really not that expensive compared to Zaino (which I used to use). I ran out of Z5 and ZFX at the same time so to get 16 oz of Z5 + ZFX would have been ~$54.00. Plus Classic gives you the applicator + MF buffing cloth.

To be fair I did a complete detail on my car with IP, FP prior to applying the FMJ.

FMJ is easier than Zaino to apply in a thin, consistent layer. It can be removed from the surface very quickly and comes off with ease with no dusting. Durability has been great thus far with great beading even after huge rain storms + Texas summer heat. Finish looks about the same as Zaino, possibly exchanging a bit of shine for superior depth on my red Firehawk.

I prefer the FMJ if for no reason than not having to play jr. chemist with either Z1 or ZFX.

In summary, great product and very easy to use.

Sorta like a one step Zaino then huh? I always strayed away from Zaino due to ( my perception of it at the time) complicated process and multiple product usage. AIO and getting down the knack for SG is as complicated as I want applying a LSP to be. Sounds like we ought to continue to collect testimonials about FMJ over the months and see where we go from there

I have it on 3 cars so far now with it on them. It is much easier to take off and you spend less time overall than with Klasse SG. The last one was a black truck and it was very deep carnauba look. I didn’t have any of the Menzerma products so I ordered the car kit. I have only one car with the Menzerma glaze before FMJ. I used AIO before FMJ on 2 of them.

Is it worth the extra money if buying it as a single? I would have not bought it for $40. But if it has the durability in days they claim and looks like carnauba on dark cars, well that may be hard to use all of the time.

I think you nailed it on the head. It leaves such a smooth, deep, wet look.

I've never used zaino, but i have tried a lot of products, this is by far my favorite.

I'm planning on doing my car with it next tues. i'll post some pics

If you have any type of itch to try it, definitly do, you will not be disappointed.

Wonder if it's as easy and same results in shine as Poorboy's EX-P?

FMJ is really not made by Menzerna, but licensed by Menzerna to be sold in that "kit". Nothing wrong with it! It has passed their strick guidelines. Just made by a small firm that has shown an exceptional track record on development of new products. I'm not knocking FMJ at all.. Licensing cost big $$ sometimes.

From others that have used it, they really seem to like it for those reasons listed, easy on/off, nice wet look and lasts long too.

One day I have to try it as well. That's the only way to tell anyway, your own eye. It's only money right :p

I just got my shipment of Menzerna direct from them. Quarts of FP and Micro Polish (FP-II), Power Gloss, Glaze and one for Ceramiclear finishes.

Once you learn how to work with it, Menzerna is one of the finest polishes out in the market, just don't have 3M marketing power. Majority of the product is for OEM anyway, not for detailing except for one line that they are now marketing.

Enjoy the FMJ and love to see any pics!

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago. I've used it on top of AIO (metallic green paint), on top of FP II (white paint), and on a third car after #9 (metallic green paint...same as first car that I was experimenting on). I've liked all three. Goes on very easily. Very shiny. Very slick. I've used hardly any product...maybe 2.5 ounces total for the 3 cars...and the last time I did the green car I put 2 coats on it.

Deanski,

How many quarts in a case of that FP , FP II and Power Gloss?

Comes 4 to a case with the same label on the bottles on the outside of the case to tell which case you have. Nice touch, this way, I don't have to keep tearing into each case to find what I need.

Testing out the formula for Ceramiclear type finishes. And you thought your clearcoat is hard??? HA!

After playing with Menzerna often, I found it far superior to anything else I've used for final finishing. Now I know why OEM uses Menzerna! A bit tricky, but WOW.

Looks like I have to get a small bottle of the FMJ from CMA one day.

Great way of putting it. I feel I lost none of the nice things about Zaino (durability, shine, ease of application/removal, slickness, layering ability) but gained a deeper look and less hassle.

Here's a picture of my car after its first FMJ. I know it's not in full sun but it's the only decent pic I had on my hard drive. Not bad for a 5 year old daily driver parked in the Texas sun every day.

Being a fanatic, I couldn't resist the temptation to guild the Lily by putting a coat of carnauba wax over FMJ. I tried both Pinnacle Souveran and P21S Pure Carnauba Paste Wax. Both dulled the shine. Since FMJ can be layered (it will bond to itself), my advice is not to put any other wax or protectant on top of it. If you feel the need for improvement, apply another "jacket" of FMJ.

I use Gold Class, Final inspection with good results (but i'm curious to what others use) and FMJ is a sealant.

I never had much luck with gold class. It was just ok. Anyone use the NXT wash with the FMJ? I used to love FI with the twins though.
