LSP Guidance Question - Or: Does FK1000 have a downside?

EdLancer- Ah, thanks for posting about your first go with this stuff!

Yeah, different look from 845 (and 476S too ) and yeah, best to keep it off trim unless you`re feeling lucky.

Speaking of lucky, you didn`t have any problems with pseudo-holograms from doing two coats back-to-back?

And I hear you on the can, I said "[screw] it" and [messed] mine up with a screwdriver :o

Don`t leave a foam applicator in the can for too long ;)

For this year`s detail I had all new variables and the only variable I didn`t really like 100% was Meg`s UP, the FK1000P was a pleasure to use and there was no pseudo-holograms as far as I can see.

1. Polisher: 21mm DA polisher
2. Pad: 5.5" Buff and Shine green pad
3. Polish: Meg`s UP
4. LSP: FK1000P / Applicator: Meg`s W004

I don`t think I have ever taped up the trim prior to polishing it is just a waste of time and tape and unprofessional, you will never see Paul Dalton tape up trim handling the polisher with precision is a better skill to learn ...LoL

Paint can opener works good

Its not the same type of lip like on a paint can. Collinite`s tins are like a paint can and seal in hermetically whereas the lip on FK1000P is not hermetical which leads me to believe that solvent evaporation is not a concern for the product.

I hardly ever tape trim either, but hey..whatever works for people.

I never paid that close attention to the lips on the various cans...my FK1000P sure seals up tight, even if it wouldn`t qualify as "hermetical". It absolutely *CAN* dry out, as my little sample tin did, and you don`t want that even though it can be rejuvenated enough to be usable (might oughta put that in scare-quotes though) with some FK425.

Once I initially pryed opened the lid, it does not close tightly as before and I have to rotate the lid so it sits flat once I have it snap through the retaining diameter of the rim. If you push down on the rim of the lid it moves up and down.
