Long lasting protective wax for outdoor parked car?

what's a decently priced, long lasting wax that'll protect against the elements for a car that's parked outside 24/7? thanks!!

Zaino Z2 or Z5, will last 5-6 months

Duragloss #105 polish (claims to last 1 year)

Collinite 845 or 476

My car stays outside 24/7, and I'm using Duragloss 105. Top that with Aquawax and you'll have all the protection you'll need. I've had great results from Zaino for many years as well. Can't go wrong!

While sealants like Zaino and Klasse Sealant Glaze are the last word in durability, I've had great results with Collinite 476S paste wax. This was on a vehicle that was outside 24/7 and used in Ohio winters. The Collinite lasts long, long time and a can will provide a lot of protection for the money.

For a product that is easy to use, cheap, and very durable the Collinites are hard to beat. They are the LSP of choice on my cars about 90% of the time.

#845 probably has a slight advantage in the ease of use department, but if you apply either of them very, very thin, they are extremely easy to work with. I have no problem using #845 in the sun on a hot day.

Accumulator has a thread about applying #476s, and if you take that advice it is a piece of cake to work with.

Collinite is good, as was Meg's #16. I'm very fond of the 16, as it practically lasts forever, but it is now discontinued. I plan on replacing it with one of the Collinites.

Zaino is supposed to be very durable, but I'm just not all that enthrolled with the look of it on solid or dark colors.

Don't overlook Poorboy's EXP. I get 3+ months out of it easily on my DD that sits outside 24/7 and gets only limited washings.

Collinite 845 for sure.

I just ordered some from my work (Advance Auto Parts) and got it for like $8.00 with my discount :)

Yup, Colinite or FK1 1000P. There's also some good word coming out about Duragloss 105.

For best protection (and looks!!!) put on at least 2 or 3 layers. A caranuaba topper can over the sealant can also protect by being a sacrificial layer.

Collinite - My local Advance Auto has both the Insulator Wax AND the Fiberglass Boat Wax (???) in their "Marine Supplies" area. If you don't have an AA or you do, but they don't carry Collinite, try a local Marine Supply. I THINK that the 915 FBW is the exact same thing as the 845 IW...

Duragloss - Their website is best if you can't find it locally. Buy all the product you want for ONE shipping charge.

I have used DG Aquawax over the Collinite IW and it looks very good, and seems to protect very very well.

If its wax, then my recommendation is P21S for all around great results and durability.

I myself don't care for the P21S but yeah, many people really like the stuff.

But leaving my hair-splitting personal preferences aside, P21S durability won't come close to Collinite; I wouldn't go with P21s for an outside 24/7 car, it just doesn't last that long. It *will* last a little longer if you let it set up before you buff it off instead of using the W-O-W-O method that you're "supposed" to use. Just put it on nice and thin so it buffs off easily. But you'll get literally *months* more out of Collinite 476S.

Kinda' surprised no one has mentioned Four Star as an option. I haven't used Klasse or Collinite, but am constantly amazed at the durability of UPP. My vehicles are outside 24/7, and granted the climate is fairly mild, but this stuff just lasts.

Lots of choices, of course...what color vehicle?

Yeah UPP works out pretty good for me if you keep up with your washing.....I have a question for you collinite users...can you lay down the 845 liquid with a pc and top it by hand with the 476S ? Or are we talking serious over kill? What products do you use before it?
