Inexpensive WalMart no rinse washes...

*WARNING* Fabuloso lists an ingredient that causes skin irritation so it probably isn't the best choice for a rinseless car wash.

So far the Armstrong/QD combo seems to be a winner.

Just found out 3Ds Waterless Wash can be used as a rinseless. Waiting to hear back on how much per gallon.....

ONR is pretty inexpensive and a great product developed specifically for auto paint... Not sure why I'd look elsewhere.

I found another potential product. LA's Awesome rinseless floor cleaner. It's a 48 ounce bottle I picked up at Ollies for $1 but suggested retail was quite a bit higher at $2. Not sure what stores carry it- Dollar Tree carries some of the LA Awesome line. PH comes in at 8.4. It says it contains no harsh detergents and has a cool purple color.

Also, if you can't find the Armstrong floor cleaner at your WalMart the commercial cleaning section sells Rubbermaid floor cleaner for about the same price. It's twice the size but you use 1/2 cup per gallon so the cost stays the same(depending on how strong of a mixture you whip up).

Tied out the LAs Totally Awesome Floor cleaner with Mother Showtime QD combo and it worked quite well. The vehicle was moderately dirty and the combo cleaned well and had excellent lubricity.

I also tried a mixture of NXT wash and Mothers QD as a spray and wipe product with less than stellar results. The cleaning ability was great but the NXT soap left a significant film on the paint.

There are also some 1 gallon size cleaners at Home Depot for around $10. Just make sure whatever you buy doesn't list grease cutters since those may be harsh.

The stuff I posted a link to has a ph of 7.5 and is made by Ecolab. They make several car wash products...among other cleaning products for restaurants and many other industries.

Thanks for that info. Sounds like a good product.

The use of polymers in soaps isn't anything new or limited to automotive applications. Today I used the restroom at a customer's place and the commercial handsoap had acrylic copolymers listed as an ingredient on the front label.

Maybe you can use the urinal cake to clay your car.

I actually went out and bought a bottle of MOS after this thread. I like it. I mixed it a little stronger than OP but I felt that the extra product aided in lubricity and made cleaning a breeze. Not sure how it compares to ONR, but if in some way on some planet there was all of a sudden a nation wide shortage of ONR, MOS would definately work in its place. just my .02

Wannafbody...

What's your dillution ratio for the armstrong/showtime combo ?

Can you tell me what's the pH for MOS ? You didn't mention anything more on MOS ? Is there anything bad with it ?

I've been informed that Armstrong soap contains acrylic resins that could yellow over time with outdoor exposure so I'd suggest finding another product. The PH of MOS is around 10 or so based on my low tech testing with pool strips.

With any soap, I'd start with the manufacturers recommendations.
