That's a good deal. I had a steam cleaner in my shop that costs about $10K for the Fulton Boiler, about $200 for the gun and $15K to get it all installed and plumbed together with my air compressor. Did a great job for removing stains from clothes. Don't know how a $46 unit will work but I do know what steam can do. Sorry for the one upmanship, I couldn't help it, my steam cleaner is better than yours, neener, neener, neener....

That's not a steam cleaner. Thats a steam powered rocket engine. You can't fool me. I'll give you $5,000 for it if you do free shipping and installation into my rocket. :D
 
A fair warning to all: I didn't let my Picollo unit cool down completely b/f emptying last night, and I got scalded when some water splashed up and got my hand. Guys, please be very careful!



Other than that snafu, mine has worked pretty well.
 
I received my Daimer steamer yesterday. I can't believe how much pressure it creates. It has a dial on the unit that is smoothly adjustable from low to high, and, when set just above half, creates plenty of pressure continuously at a high temperature. The unit came with great attachments, and it did a wonderful job on my dash, seats, and headliner.



I am currently doing a STEAMER vs (aztec) EXTRACTOR experiment on my carpets/floor mats. I will be posting all before and after pics in the Detailing forum when I am finished! Hopefully I can finally contribute something useful to the forums besides smart-aleck remarks and noob-questions!!

That would be an interesting comparison. Do you think this steamer can hold a candle to a real heated extractor?



What technique r u going to use on the mats and carpet?
 
I'm a little disapointed in mine but I still think it's worth $60 it seems to run soft on steam but maybe i still need to play some more

With the steamer I'm just using the triangle head brush with a mf towel clipped to it, and going back and forth over the carpet. I'm almost finished my experiment, and will try and post the results later this weekend.
 
I got one yesterday. wife ordered it on the 6th and got it on tyhe 9th. I messed with it a lil. must say for the price its a ok unit for around the house for small jobs. using the nylon brush really helped it clean. I will try some of the other attachments soon. I used it on my mirror in the bathroom and cleaned it quick. now wont have to use such harsh chemicals around my kid. I will say its worth the $45 but not the $200 people seen at target(I guess thats what it was.





will use it on my wifes car soon. will do some before and after shots. if pig pen off charley brown had a car. it would be my wifes car :LOLOL
 
I got mine today. Going to try and steam the leather in the wifes 99 740il as it looks real dirty. Will try and do before/after pics.



So if I steam the leather clean then I don't have to use any leather cleaner just a conditioner?

I would still use the leather cleaner in addition, personally.

I just did a 96 MB that had some coffee or tea spills in it and after I pre-spotted those areas (plus general dirt) I let it dwell for just a few minutes, lightly agitated those areas and then steamed them. I made slow passes and the coffee stains pretty much emulsified and turned into liquid and I then used my extractor to inject clean water and then quickly remove it. Some areas this had to be repeated but it all came out.



On the MB seats and dash I again used the steamer with the triangle head attachment. The seats were very dry, the steering wheel, controls and also the seats were white with body oils plus general grime. The steamer just melted all that stuff and then following with a MF towel to mop up the emulsified gunk those areas looked good as new.



The really odd thing was when I cleaner the driver seat. The lady who owns the car wears some very nice perfumes. She smells great :woohoo: So when I steamed the driver seat I could smell her perfume rising up as the steamer opened up the pores of the leather and released all those years of her spraying while in the car :grinno: I had to look around because I thought she was standing next to me but she wasn't, it was just her perfume I smelled :lol

Anthony, The small triangle brush is too harsh for the leather on my wifes 99 740il. Did you put a MF over the brush? It appears that these seats may have been re-dyed or sprayed with some kind of color coating. I can see overspray on the side metal hinges. I will post pics later tonight. The brush alone removed some of the dye or whatever might of been used on the seats.



Anyway I steamed all the interior on the car, sans the carpet. Leather, door trim, dash, ect. I just held the steamer about 6" from the surface doing one section at a time. Then I would wipe with a MF or white cotton towel. I think I will do the drivers seat again. Then clean it with some zaino Z9 leather cleaner just to see if it got all the dirt off. All the other seats look very good. So they will just get Z10 conditioner and going to try some CG leather conditoner on one of the seats as well.



Wonder if I should apply the Z9 cleaner then steam it before wiping it off. :think:
 
So is anyone going to try the Saeco machine on their engine? Or is this not the preferred way to clean an engine?

I tried with mine, but I already had a really clean engine, so it was just blasting off the dust. I really dont think it will work that well in an engine bay. No doubt it will remove the grime, but its just too concentrated of a "steam stream" to do it quickly.



This steamer is great for spot cleaning and small areas and works great on wheels. I guess the best part is that you dont have to use a chemical at all and just a short blast is enough to loosen the grime on rims to wipe it right off. And its great on tires as well, gets all the gunk off...
 
This seems like a great machine for the price. I just don't see how you can go wrong. I ordered mine today. Can't wait till it get here!
 
Got mine today as a present. Did anyone else notice the outside box claims to have a stainless "sell" boiler and is a little bulky? Guess the translator was having a bad day?

U need to be careful using steam when cleaning your engine bay, esp around the electronics.

Overall, though, steam is safer than a hose or pressure washer; you get much more finite control, and even with electronics, it's easier to keep stuff dry.

On the Piccolo? Eh, its ok for me. I was able to do a filthy explorer with it and ended up w/ some water left over in the tank. The little thing is definitely a life saver.
