I joined Anthony and bought a Steam Cleaner - YAHOO

It's a great little toy, especially for the price. I've found it to be very useful on cars that have been neglected for several years. I would not pay $200 for it however. It's not something I would consider a must-have detailing tool. An extractor is a much more useful detailing tool IMO. I wish I could find a fairly good one of those for about $200.

Mikeman out.

Holy bandwagon Batman...

I had to jump on it! :)

I ordered mine from Costco last night. If it helps save me a little bit of time it will be worth the $58.

LoL. Resurrecting an semi-old thread is good!

$58 for some? Why did I spend $66 including sales tax? If sales tax is included, doesn't that mean it's shipping from the same state? Maybe not.

Just to reiterate, because not everyone will read the entire 21 page post.

I SENT MINE (2) BACK.

I then spent $600 for a pro version, and I am now very happy. Once again, you get what you pay for.

The concept is quite versatile and very effective.

PM me if you want the Brand - I try not to promote...

What were the reasons for sending them back? Not powerful enough?

Btw, didn't you buy 3 of them?

Well now I remember why i rarely come in here. I buy more stuff! LoL ordered one today was 62 bucks and change.

Invest the money into a professional unit if your going to be using it everyday :2thumbs:

Anthony

just thought i bring this up incase anyone didnt read through all the pages....i own one an really like it ...i was decided between this and the LGM Bissel...i am glad i made the right decision for myself....this unit is for more personal use and not for commercial use....

Didn't see anyone mention if this piccolo thingy is great at removing salt stains on car carpets?

Thanks...

Honey... ummm.... I-I-I kinda....

I have yet to use it in a car, but on the throw down carpet in front of my fridge, it didnt work too well without any cleaner like I thought it would....an then on the grout on my tile, it didnt really blast away the dirt. Also, from my experience, it got everything soaking wet and took a lot of vacuuming to get it dry....I am skeptical on how it will work on the interior of a car with all the electronics on the doors and what not....anyone try it out yet???

That was basically my thoughts when I first tried it. I tried it on the grout of the tiles in my bathroom and had nothing but a soaked floor haha. I have now learned to use it better in interiors and door jambs which yield decent results.

Be sure you let the unit heat up at least until the indicator light has gone off. When using it on carpet I use the triangle brush head covered with a MF towel after spraying a small amount of APC on the spot. This seems to work ok. On door jambs I remove the brush and just blast the steam into the spots, again after spraying with a small amount of APC. It does remove dirt from hard to reach areas which is a nice luxury.

I found it performed well removing the old sticky junk at the bottom of cup holders which is usually hard to remove. The steamer did a nice job of breaking it up making it easy to remove.

One more thing when spraying into the A/C vents. I use the triangle brush covered with a doubled over towel to keep too much moisture from entering the vents.

It also did a nice job cleaning the white letters on tires. I used no attachment, blasted the letters, ran a scrub brush over them, and blasted them again. It cleaned it up nice with no chemicals.

True this is no miracle machine, but hopefully no one thought it would be according to the price. I don't regret my purchase.
