I joined Anthony and bought a Steam Cleaner - YAHOO

Couldn't resist could ya. I may give Costco another try at processing my order.

haha, nope. It's an early Christmas present. :)

I have a couple cars in mind with very nasty door jambs, and I'm very anxious to clean them now. Of course it will have to wait until March, when we're consistently reaching above 32*F.

White95Max:

C that's y I wanted one too. I just got my door jambs all shiny and clean and knew I'd be driving 400 miles through the snow to see family for the holidays. Now thier all covered in dried salt.

Yeah mine are too. But I just use QEW/QD to clean my door jambs. I used AIO/#16 on them about a month ago, and 1Z Gummipflege on the weatherstripping two weeks in a row, so I'm pretty well protected in there.

I don't think the steam cleaner will ever be used on my door jambs. Just other peoples' that haven't been cleaned in 10 years.

Y wouldn't you use it on your jambs? Is there the possibility of damage or you think they will never need that type of cleaning?

Exactly. I clean my door jambs at least twice a month. They never really get that dirty. With a little QEW/QD, they wipe clean with no effort.

Heh heh, if you cleaned 'em at every wash they wouldn't get dirty at all ;)

Just teasing, but I simply don't get the "dirty doorjamb" thing :grinno:

Never mind me, I'm just in a mood because the S8 is really dirty from the TG weekend trip :D The doorjambs are probably the cleanest paint on the car!

My favorite smack-talk to the guys from work is that "my door jams got more bling than your hood". And of course, they do. It's actually funny, to me at least, because it is easier to keep that paint looking pristine, as it's not exposed to the elements the way the rest of the vehicle is. I only wipe them down with my drying towel after a wash, and AIO them annually.

My doorjams stay spotless too. However, the cars I usually clean up are filthy beyond belief. I'm talking 3-12 years of grime. The little Piccolo steamer is a big help with these types of vehicles.

On another note, I had a floormat today with a big black gunky spot on it. I blasted the spot with the steamer for about 5 seconds, and wiped it away....no chemicals...and fast.

SamIam started it!

Both of my Picollos are acting up...just won't deliver steam, when the unit is obviously quite hot.

I'm really disappointed

But, because I love the concept, I'll end up spending hundreds more for a professional unit.

Jim,

you get what you pay for....I don't believe these $50 or $60 dollar units have boilers in them that can stand up to daily heavy use.

Invest the money into a professional unit if your going to be using it everyday :2thumbs:

1100 PSI? That doesn't even sound safe to be using for interiors. MAYBE it would be OK for engines, but even at that I gotta say, I think I smell burnt spam from someone who may not even realize what this forum is about/aimed toward.

the water pressure has a regulator, you are able to adjust the pressure. my new k'archer i can adjust the pressure and temperature of the water. it was impossible for me to find a used steam cleaner when i was in the market... no need to get your panties in a bunch.

If your Piccolos are getting heavy use, they may just need to be descaled. The directions say it's time to descale if steam volume decreases noticeably.
