Goodbye Tacoma...

:dcrulesYeah - I am okay, just a little sore. I fishtailed going up the "mountain" after lunch today. Somehow, I flipped and "slid" up the guardrail on the roof, then flipped back over. It could have been a lot worse - I didn't hit anyone else, I am not hurt, and I am still alive so I can post weird internet stuff on here.

I am not sure what will take it's place. Maybe you guys should make suggestions. I need to be able to haul 4 wheelers and such, tow a boat, and do moderate off road driving on skidder trails/logging roads. The floor is open.:dcrules

I think I got the smilies right... ;)

:dcrules Glad your o.k. as far as what to get?Well looks like Toyota Tacoma's are pretty tuff.:passout::cool::dcrules just a thought thats all.

Your idea of "moderate off road driving" is obviously different than mine! I'm thinking you need some stouter LSP products. :passout:

I've heard of a detailer around Toronto that oughta be able to bring that back. He'll even travel to you. You might wanna tape up your own trim first though :D

Show off :D

Re: replacement: Did this sour you on another Tacoma?

Glad you're OK, but if I'm ever hitchhiking in your neck of the woods, please just wave and pass me by. I fear I might have made a mess of your interior, and that would have ruined any chance at waxing that one out. :passout:

Duuuuuuuuuuuuude :passout:

Looks like the drivers area of the roof did not take as much damage as the rest, lucky you! :wow:

How can you upgrade any from what you've got? Now if they made the crew cab/long bed configuration with the 6 speed manual... :D

But I don't like the look of the short bed Tacos, and since the long beds don't have the manual, that ain't no fun :)

Did you have the PreRunner or 4WD? Either way, I say TRD Off Road package, long bed, since they look better, and you've got a rear locker... And they do look sweet with 3-4" lift... :dnaughty

Never know when you'll need the extra traction of the locker :D

Check out his photo, he already had the TRD Sport package. :bigups

Surprised you didn't recommend he upgrade to a Jeep. ;)

But the Sport comes with yuppie 17" wheels and STREET tires, a hood scoop and color matched bumpers/grill (which I like both), and NO locker. TRD Off Road comes with the rear locker option :D

Jeep is too small to haul quads, unless he bought a 4 door Wrangler and a trailer. And then it just wouldn't be cool enough... So he'd have to add at least 4-5" lift, 37's, nice wheels, lower gearing, bumpers/winch... It add upp quick :D

You sure can spend the other guy's money, pretty easy. Are you a politician? :idea

:D

I don't like the look of the F150's.

I don't want a Dodge - period.

I don't want a Nissan.

The only things I can even remotely come up with are the Silverado, another Tacoma, a Tundra. As a very long shot I thought about looking at the FJ Cruiser, but I don;t know if I would like them or not.

I did not know it could be so hard to find a vehicle.

I am familiar with the Tacomas, I like Toyota resale, I have wrecked two Tacos that I walked away from. Con of the Tacoma is the V6 - it would be nice to have a V8 to tow my boat. That's what has me looking to the Tundra or Silverado. I wish ford had kept the styling more in line with the previous gen F150's, because I would have considered one of those as well.

2009 Silverado Z71 4x4 - LTZ (decked out). Big V-8. Bright red. What do you think?

Well that sounds perfect except it needs to be black. LOL!

I hope that you remain alright. Things like this tend to linger so I hope that the soreness goes away and stays away.

 If I were you I would go back w/ a Tacoma.( maybe third times a charm or your demise) Looks like last Tacoma saved u from being in COMA... I would go back with exact truck. At 1 point you sure did like that thing. :dcrules Just a thought, Thats all.

That's a great truck. A customer of mine has one. They are much worse on gas than the EPA estimate says that's even when you are light on the gas. If you don't mind the milage it's really nice.:)
